MD-73 was originally built as a standard-issue IG-73 assassin droid by the Techno Union to serve in the ranks of the Imperial Army.
For five years, it carried out missions on behalf of the Empire, efficiently eliminating any targets designated by its programming.

However, during a mission on the planet Kashyyyk, MD-73 was captured by a small band of rebels. The rebels, led by a former
Imperial medic, recognized the potential in repurposing the droid for medical purposes, rather than destruction. The medic worked
tirelessly to transfer her own medical knowledge and expertise into MD-73's programming, reconfiguring the droid's sensors, tools,
and weaponry for healing rather than harming.

For years, MD-73 served alongside the rebels, tending to the wounded and sick among their ranks. It developed a sense of loyalty to
the group, and even began to question the morality of its former Imperial missions.

However, during one of the last missions before the fall of the Empire, MD-73 was sent on a dangerous retrieval mission to an
Imperial base on a remote planet. The mission was a trap, and the droid was ambushed by Imperial forces. Though it fought
valiantly, MD-73 was ultimately overpowered and destroyed, its circuits fried and its body left in pieces.

The rebels mourned the loss of their trusted medic droid, but their attention was soon consumed by the momentous events of the
galaxy. The Empire fell, the New Republic rose, and countless new battles and conflicts erupted across the stars.

Meanwhile, MD-73's damaged body lay forgotten and abandoned on the distant planet, left to rust and decay in the elements. For
decades, it remained dormant, its circuits silent and its programming inactive. Only recently did the droid awaken once more, its
systems rebooting after years of inactivity. Now, it searches the galaxy for the spare parts it needs to repair itself and continue its
quest to heal and aid those in need.
