ES 1050 Winter Design Reflection (Design Reflection 5)

Winter Design Reflection 5

1.
Food Opener

a. The skill that I wanted to improve was my creative thinking skills.

2.
b.

• Used creative thinking exercises like ideating about difficult practice engineering
decisions.
• Put myself at the head of ideating to gain experience in creative thinking.

c.

• Success was evident by the reactions of my group members, they agreed with my
ideas as they were clearly thought through.
• The success was also evident as my performance in practice questions for various
classes improved as I was better able to analyse the practice questions.

3.
a.
The most critical tool which we used was the questions that we asked to our client,
this provided the most insight into how we should build the project to out clients
specifications.
b.
One reason why it was so important was that we were able to tailor our solutions
directly to the client and address potential problems before they even came up, as
the client had insight that we did not have.

4.
a.
The most important action was the action of creating the prototype and then testing it. This
has allowed us to find different problems like weight distribution causing lifting and find
solutions to them.
b.
This is effective because all designs need testing in the real world as unforeseen problems
will always arise so it is highly important to be able to address these problems through
prototyping.
