DEAD LOAD
All data presented here are taken from NSCP 2001 & 2010 Code and ASCE 7-98 specifications.
USE - refers to the values used by the designer in the calculation of dead loads.

Note 10: The mounting of handrails shall be such that the completed handrail and supporting
structure are capable of withstanding a load of at least 890 N applied in any direction at any point
on the rail.

WIND LOAD
All data presented here are parameters used for the calculation of windload.

PRELIMINARY DESIGN
CHAPTER IV – DESIGN CRITERIA AND PARAMETERS || 10
The design of structural element such as footing, column, beam and slab shown in this
sheet are only preliminary dimension assumed by the designer for the purpose of determination
of preliminary dead load carried by the beam for framework analysis. In addition, it also used for
the computation for structural details. The dimension shown can be change once there is failure,
to carry the desired loading occurs or even for economic reasons.

Concrete slab thickness = 150mm
Bituminous surface (Asphalt) = 10mm
Note: Asphalt is used as coating for concrete only as adsorbent to water.
