1. Em vez de “geração perdida”, chame de “geração acolhedora”

In this article, we see the big cultural representation that Kpop idols can have, in this
case, we see a famous K-pop group, BTS, participating in ONU. The members were invited
to the opening of the 76 UN General Assembly of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG),
the leader Kim Nam-Joon made a speech, bringing a message of hope, especially for the
younger population, he said “Tell me your story. I want to hear your voice, and I want to hear
your conviction. No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin colour, gender
identity: speak yourself”
With this, we can see how culture can influence the population, especially the younger
ones. In this case, we see an example, where the group has so much good influence that it has
been invited to the UN assembly, to guide and advise the population with his speech.

2. Reformulando a diplomacia cultural: BTS e a Hallyu como estratégias do soft

power sul-coreano

This text points out the relevance of the participation of the pop group BTS at the UN,
in an event related to climate activities together with Agenda 2030. The importance of the
cultural universe for South Korean public diplomacy and its soft-power tools.
Former President Moon Jae-in designated the K-pop group as a Special Presidential
Envoy for South Korea's future generations and culture, which is a major diplomatic act
indicating the identity and promotion of the art and internationally.
It is a fact that the social impact caused by musical bands is positive, as it unites
people from different parts of the world, and using a favor from a country's foreign policy
causes an expansion of communication through sharing problems, as is the case of the SDG's
and the 2030 Agenda.
The policy act signed to BTS a diplomatic role reaffirms how much South Korea has
been working to strengthen its international role if it uses this form of softpower that is South
Korean external. BTS' performance and international success is an example of cultural
influence spreading an intelligent message that transcends cultural barriers.
This softpower action is by state and non-state actors seeking content for Korean
popular culture for all political, social and economic relationships. The high rate of
cultivation of the policy of cultural products and services by South Korea proves what we
should expect in the future, the initiative and the increased recognition of the external
mobilization agenda that in this way individuals.

3. O novos fluxos midiáticos da cultura popcoreana

In this article, we search to make the connection between South Korean pop culture
and how it is seen today. So, it is observed that from the first decade of the 21st century
onwards, globalization is established in terms of communication and relationship between
countries, especially with regard to South Korea and neighboring countries, which began to
introduce products such as soap operas, films, music, books, comics, games, food, cosmetics,
fashion, and digital technology products domestically.
From this, we have the denomination of Hallyu or Korean Wave, which was
strengthened not only by the South Korean development itself but also by the entry of foreign
content into the country that allowed cultural diversification internally. With this, there is
great investment by businessmen and the government itself so that cultural production is
encouraged and thus expanded to other regions, an example of this is the success of Gangnam
Style by singer Psy, which was the first major South Korean act to cross borders and win the
west. From there, the South Korean industry manages to expand strongly, whether in the
music industry, film, and economic businesses.
Finally, the article ends by showing that this growth strongly favors the use of soft
power by the country, in addition to establishing that today, perhaps greater coverage on the
subject is necessary, since analyses from Europe and North America largely prevailed until
recently.

4. Diplomacia cultural como forma de exercício de poder: soft power coreano

This article is an example and explanation of how South Korea is able to transform its culture
into soft power. We see that the International System needs a new perspective in traditional
debates. We chose this article because it talks about Cultural Diplomacy, showing how
important is Culture when doing international relations.
The article shows a study about Soft Power, and how it helped to develop the
socioeconomic of South Korea. The concept of Hallyu Wave is the name of this movement
that improved South Korea's economy and social life.
