Introduction
Academic writing is one of the most significant skill that helps to make analytical and
knowledgeable presentation in writing forms. It helps to develop creativity and also keep
focus on all the levels of knowledge. Academic writing helps to inform, narrate and persuade
the content. It is effective for the certain individuals to concern over some specific features of
Academic writing (Cardiff Metropolitan University, 2021). This paper describes over major
features of Academic writing and the way to implement these in real time to get higher
efficiency for a student to make further success in university life.

Features of academic writing


Structured
Academic writing need to run with clear structure. Essay and reports forms are the most
common genres of writing. Academic writing need to concern over structure of reports and
essay. Both are having separate writing structure. For an essay writing, there should be
certain introduction to the starting point where this statement need to generate that following
with clear body of couple of paragraph. These paragraph need to relates with a topic
sentences. Also, student need to draw certain conclusion. On the other hand, in report writing,
writer need to show aims and objectives of the poet at the introduction stage. There should be
certain literature review, analysis, findings, recommendation and conclusion need to draw
over the airs and justify to reach the aim. Both report and essay should be certain reference
list that shows the way to acknowledge the whole research. Writings ne do be logical
progression and cohesive. All the part of the writing need to connect with each paragraph and
ties up with the aim. It is effective to set an essential plan to ensure better structure of writing
(University of Leeds, 2021).
Critical:
Critical writing that helps to evaluates and analyse different information that uses in the
research. Most of the time, beginners think that statement is true and start supporting the
statement from the beginning. Critical writing shows, students need to make solid judgment
over the certain statement and try to evaluate different research to ensure better critical
writing. Academic writing shows students nee do be critical about what they read and way to
accept or reject certain statement. There are different source also need to use to judge the
statement and make critical writing. It is not about only saying what they read so students
need to make reflective writing form the critical reading that reflects with critical writing to
teachers. It is also important to search for the write source, relevancy, update information and
accuracy check to make further writing. It helps student to show the reason why they accept
or reject the statement and also helps to turn up solid conclusion of the research. So, it shows
the importance of critical writing in the academic writing (Staffordshire University, 2021)
Formal
Academic writing need to concern over the formal terms. It is more important for the student
to use concise sentences and use formal words and vocabulary. Student also need to avoid
colloquial languages. They should not use any chatty language in their academic writing. It is
more important for them to use idioms that makes the writing more interesting. Students
should not use complex issues and should use more simple sentences. Student should avoid
slang too. They should use one-word verbs and try to avoid more phrasal verb. Student
should not use any longer words and sentences (Gillett, 2020). They need to concern over
using short sentences and concise terms. They should not make repetition of sentences. There
are certain academic word list need to understand and also need to concern over the academic
vocabulary lists. Vocabularies that use for the academic context and also make solid run of
academic written to make formal presentation of the understanding with the Academic
writing.
Objectivity
Academic writing is also need to concern over the objectivity with their academic text. Writer
need to make references over the whole writing. There is certain argument and information
need to utilize in the writing. In the Academic writing, student need to use nouns and noun
phrases. They need to avoid the verbs and adverbs. They also need to use passive structure
that student should not use I, You and we and they need to make objective position of
writing. It is effective for them to avoid active voice. This is more important for the student to
use the topic as the subject (Staffordshire University, 2020). They also need to use passive
verbs. It helps to attach the topic sentence with the total writing and make effective reflection
of writing. It shows that student can make express their opinion but this is important to use
the formal way and communicate with the proper arguments and logical arguments to show
effective reflection of learning to make clear understanding to the leader

Personal experience over the course


This course helps to outline the major feature of Academic writing. As a student, it is
important to have potential understanding over the Academic writing issues. It is effective to
have a certain structure of the Academic writing. It is also important for students to use the
evidence and also use the critical analysis over the research aims. They need to make balance
over the issues in Academic writing and they also need to offer the right evidence and
arguments in their writing. Students need to ensure precise of the sentence and should not use
complex sentences. They need to show the formal and precise concept that will help to make
effective reflection over the topic and make strong understanding to the reader. They also
need to make critical reading and reflect with critical writing to reach higher success

Conclusion
After the above discussion, this paper helps to describe different features of Academic
writing. It shows the combination of features as structured writing, evidence and critical
writing with logical expression. They also need to use the balanced structure and formal
expression to ensure better growth of Academic writing to make effective success in the
academic term
