STATISTICS IN EDUCATION

FIRST SEMESTER 2021-2022

Activity 2: Picturing Distribution with NUMBERS
REFLECTION

My personal reflection about the lesson is that, it is really easy find the mean, median
and mode. I am really having a hard time in understanding the five summary statistics since I’m
not really familiar but I have to find a way to learn it. If the data are already available, we can
easily find the descriptive summary of the given data, and one thing I found-out is that if in the
collected data there are qualitative, we just need to use categories or codes just to get it
quantitative data form but I just put the age and weight since they are quantitative data. In
generating the box and whisker, it is easy just like creating any graphs but I noticed that the
data are just being plotted in the graph. The box and whisker plot are being used when we have
multiple data set from independent sources that are related to each other in some way. Example
is the test scores between schools and classrooms but since the age and weight are not related
it will not appear in the graph.
