Understanding The Feelings Of The Selected CSNHS Teacher When They Are
Mistreated/Disrespected By Their Pupils, S/Y 2023-2024

I. RESEARCH QUESTION

How does the teacher cope with the negative emotions that arise from being mistreated or
disrespected by their pupils?

II. THESIS STATEMENT

This research aims to investigate the subjective experiences of selected CSNHS teachers in the
academic year 2023-2024 when confronted with mistreatment and disrespect from their pupils,
enabling a deeper understanding of the underlying factors contributing to student-teacher conflicts and
highlighting potential strategies for resolving these issues to promote positive learning environments.

III. SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This research aims to discuss the range of emotions experienced of Junior and Senior high teachers
when confronted with mistreatment and disrespect from their pupils.

The respondents involved are six (6) teachers from Camarines Sur National High School who agreed
to be interviewed. The researchers assessed their experiences in terms of the following: (1) what
respect means for them; (2) times they got disrespected; (3) confrontation with mistreatment; and (4)
mental and emotional status. The respondents were interviewed 3 days straight at their office after
they finish teaching.

This study excluded other factor of determining the respondents’ experience, such as their behavior in
class, how long have they been on the job and how they treat their students. Also this study did not
cover other teacher point of view like the elementary teacher and college teacher.

IV. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This research aims to investigate the experiences of teachers when confronted with mistreatment and
disrespect from their pupils, enabling a deeper understanding of the underlying factors contributing to
student-teacher conflicts and highlighting potential strategies for resolving these issues to promote
positive learning environments.

The Finding of this study aims to provide a new understanding on how teacher managed the
following: (1)the student; and (2)the situation when they are being mistreated or disrepected by their
student. Also this research will provide new perspective to the student about respect.
STUDENT will benefit on this study in a way that they will be aware on the things that can be
insulting to their teacher and also they will gain new perspective of respect and about this they will
become conscious and cautious on their doing. Also by this they can gain new point of view of respect
to other people.

TEACHER will directly benefit on this study because they will be aware on what they do when they
got disrespected by their student. They can improve on how they handle their student and they can
share their own perspective of their respect to their student.
