*Verbs with two objects

Active Voice
Some friends gave Anna a computer for her birthday. (=Some friends gave a computer to Anna.)

Passive Voice
Anna was given a computer by some friends for her birthday.
A computer was given to Anna by some friends for her birthday.

*There are direct objects and indirect objects. A direct object (in bold) is the thing or person that is
affected by the action of the verb. An indirect object (underlined) is usually a person or animal who receives
a direct object.
Simple Present
Apple discontinues the iPod in 2022. ACTIVE VOICE
The iPod is discontinued by Apple in 2022. PASSIVE VOICE

Elon Musk buys Twitter in 2022. ACTIVE VOICE

Twitter is bought by Elon Musk in 2022. PASSIVE VOICE

Present continuous

Present Perfect

Simple Past
