Development of Educational Online English Language Game

A. Introduction
English is an international language widely used in various
fields, including the world of work and education. Therefore, it is
important for society to have good English language skills. One way
to improve English language skills is by using online games that have
educational elements. Therefore, we propose the development of an
online English language educational game.

B. Objectives
The objective of developing an online English language
educational game is to help society, especially students, to learn
English in a fun and effective way. Additionally, the development of
this online game aims to enhance Indonesia's competitiveness in terms
of English language proficiency.
C. Target Audience
The target audience for the development of the online English
language educational game is students and the general public who
want to improve their English language skills.
D. Methodology
The methodology that will be used in the development of the
online English language educational game is as follows:
1. Literature review on English language learning through online games.
2. Research on user needs and preferences.
3. Development of the online English language educational game using
modern technology and tools.
4. Testing of the online game using the user acceptance testing (UAT)
method.
5. Continuous evaluation and improvement.
E. Game Description
The online English language educational game that will be
developed is a puzzle game with a theme around English vocabulary.
The game will consist of several levels with varying levels of
difficulty. Each level will have a specific topic related to English
vocabulary. Players will be asked to fill in the words that match the
images displayed within a set time. Additionally, the game will also
be equipped with a leaderboard feature so that players can see their
rankings with other players.
F. Game Advantages
Some advantages of the online English language educational
game that will be developed are as follows:
1. The game can help players learn English vocabulary in
a fun and interactive way.
2. The game will be equipped with a leaderboard feature
that can motivate players to play better and improve
their English language skills.
3. The game can be accessed through various devices,
including desktop and mobile.
4. The game will be equipped with an adaptive learning
feature that can adjust the difficulty level according to
the player's ability.
5. The game will use modern technology and tools to
provide an optimal gaming experience.
G. Development Plan
Here is the development plan for an online educational English
language game:
1. Research Phase
• Conduct literature review on English language
learning through online games.
• Conduct user needs and preferences research
through online surveys and interviews.
2. Design Phase
• Design concept and visual design for the
online educational English language game.
• Determine game algorithms and scenarios.
• Determine features and user interface that will
be included in the game.
3. Development Phase
• Create a game prototype.
• Conduct limited testing with selected users.
• Evaluate and improve the game prototype.
4. Production Phase
• Develop the game with final version and
complete features.
• Conduct testing with User Acceptance Testing
(UAT) method.
• Evaluate and improve the game after UAT
testing.
5. Launch Phase
• Launch the game online and offline.
• Spread information about the game through
various social media platforms and official
website.
• Conduct online and offline promotional events
for the game launch.
6. Maintenance Phase
• Receive feedback from users and make further
improvements and developments to the game.
• Maintain the quality of the game and address
technical issues that arise.
• Regularly update the game.

I. Conclusion
The development of an online educational English language
game is expected to help improve the English language skills of the
Indonesian population in a fun and interactive way. The game is also
expected to motivate students to learn English more enthusiastically
and improve Indonesia's competitiveness in terms of English language
proficiency.
