A GENERAL
1 Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) by the scope of work.
2 Plant & equipment is set back at least 1.5 meter from the edge of excavation.
3 Spoils / material are set back at least 1.5 meter from the edge of excavation.
4 Hard barricades are provided surrounding the work zone with signage.
5 Proper access and egress is provided into the work zone.
6 Safe access is secured and extend 1 meter above the surface of the excavation.
7 Protection system (above 1.5m depth) is installed according to risk assessment.

B UNDERGROUND SERVICES

1 Identify cable marking route from underground mapping drawing.

2 Underground services are pegged with spray paint prior to excavation.
3 Spotter is in place to monitor excavation for any possible contact with services.
4 All underground services excavated are protected against falling materials.

C WET CONDITION
Precautions are taken to protect personnel from water accumulation through
1 continuous dewatering
Surface water or runoff is diverted / controlled to prevent accumulation in the
2 excavation.
