I.INTRODUCTION:

This method describes specific working methods which will be used to carry out Grease Trap Cleaning activity. It
gives detailed step wise approach that needs to be performed to make the work confirmed to the contractual
requirements, health and safety issues and quality controls. Content of the method statement can also be used for
the preparation of risk assessment plan.

II.DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:

1. Waste water tanker


2. Industrial Vacuum
3. Safety Cones
4. Basic Toolset
5. Lighting
6. Personal Protective Equipment
7. “Work in Progress” signboards and barricades

V.PREPARATION:

1. After obtaining necessary work permits, coordinate with contractor or client to identify the service area or grease
trap location to perform the cleaning task
2. Make sure client representative available during the cleaning activity
3. If required, barricade the work are to prevent unauthorized access in the work area

V.COVID-19 PRIOR TO WORK PRECAUTION:

1. hand sanitizer must be available with the team


2. Face mask must be worn all the time during work
3. Social distance must be maintain while talking to client or security personnel

4. Hand gloves must be worn all the time to prevent contamination of hands
5. Hand wash is mandatory before/after work

V.I.WORKING METHODOLOGY:

1. After obtaining necessary work approval. Place Work in Progress sign board before proceeding work.
2. Take photograph of Before/After service starting from Entrance of the premises, overall view of the service
location.
3. Open the manhole cover using appropriate tools
4. bring the waste water tank nearby and lay down the suction hose into the grease trap
5. Activate the PTO of the tanker and siphoning the FOG’s from the grease trap, if required use scrapper to scrap
down solidified FOG’s from the walls and floor, filter of the grease trap.
6. Remove the filter of the grease trap and clean the FOG’s underneath the filter
7. Take necessary pictures before replacing filters and manhole covers of the grease trap
8. Clean manhole cover and surrounding area of the grease trap
9. Ensure the work area is clean and pack up tools and equipments used, stow the suction hose into the waste
water tank
10. Prepare service report and get signature from the client representative
11. Close the work permit in the security department

 Trapping Finger
 Exposure to flashes

VII.PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES & CONTROLS:

1. Use of Proper PPE


2. All electric operated Tools and equipments must be connected in a suitable circuit board
3. Ensure suction hoses are in place properly prior to activating vacuum system
