1. TASK DESCRIPTION
Boundary relocation

2. PRE-START ACTIVITIES
 Ensure the construction zone is free of overhead cables, underground services, and other hazards.
 Using services plans, mark out the assumed positions of existing services.
 Plan access for plant to position panels and other materials.
 Ensure all are medically fit to work.
 A Toolbox Talk involving all involved in the activity must be held before the commencement of work and an
attendance register of this toolbox talk will be kept on file.
 Product certificates/conformance documentation to specifications submitted to the Engineer for approval – 2 weeks
prior to commencement of works (If applicable).
 Test results and material samples submitted to the Engineer for approval – 2 weeks prior to commencement of
works (if applicable).
 Check wayleaves are in place.
3. RESOURCES
3.1 Plant & equipment:
 Rotary Hammer Drill with bit;
 Wheel barrow and Buckets as required;
 Generator and lead;
 Barricades, barrier netting to secure work area, and safety signage;
 Water pump to keep work area dry as necessary (if required).

3.2 Labour:
 Responsible Supervisor for overseeing the operation, completing necessary safety and environmental checklists,
ensuring productivity, ensuring work carried out in accordance with SWP;
 Surveyor provides setting out, checks position.
 Team to include the following dependent on stage of construction: Foreman, Concrete-hand, Shutter-hand, General
labour.

3.3 Materials:
 Ready fence panels, wire, gates.
 Shade netting.
 Posts, timber, IBR sheeting.
 Please refer to site memo 47 for all other permanent fence material.

4. SEQUENCE OF ACTIVITIES
CLEARING THE ALIGNMENT

 Strip the topsoil and stockpile in approved location.


 Clearing areas of all grass, weeds, shrubs, debris, including grubbing roots and cart away all vegetation and debris

to spoil areas.
 Once the clearing is completed the setting out will be carried out by the qualified Surveyor, according to the
coordinates on the drawings prior to any excavation commences.
 The excavation material will be stockpiled at the designed areas approved by engineer.
 Tipper trucks will be used to transport the top soil to the area of the stock pile.
FENCING STRATEGY

 The fencing strategy shall be to erect temporary fence on one property at a time so that residents and property
owners are fully protected from unlawful entry or trespassing onto the properties. This will include temporary gates
and pedestrian gates.
 Temporary fence and gate shall be to at least the same height as the existing fence and gate. Temporary gate shall
be fully erected prior to demolishing or dismantling the existing fence.
 The new fence shall then be reconstructed or re-erected in it’s new location as quickly as possible using the
recovered components of the existing fence or building.
 Together with all existing additional fencing components and accessories including electrical connections, electrical
security fencing, gate motors, telecom system, communication systems property number on walls.
TEMPORARY FENCING AND GATE

 The temporary fence shall be a pedestrian fence of 1.8m minimum height with timber post as shown on the typical
drawing.
 The posts and standards need not to be backfilled with concrete due to the temporary nature of the fence.
 Temporary single-leaf gates shall be provided where necessary for vehicles and the pedestrians.
 Vehicle gate shall be 1.8m high and have a minimum width of 3m.
 All gates shall be provided with locks and chains for use by the property owner.
FOUNDATIONS AND POST HOLES

 Please refer to site memo 47 for demolishing and re-erecting of all types of permanent fencing.
5. QUALITY CONTROL

 Quality Control to be actioned according to Quality Control Plan;


 Construction Manager to assess the acceptance of operation as input to succeeding operations.
 Supervision over the works.

6. HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL


6.1 Risks & H&S requirements
 H&S document: Risk Assessment
 Ensure workers use the required PPE such as hard hat, footwear, goggles, gloves, reflective vest.
 Fall protection plan must be reviewed, agreed and signed off by the H&S Officer AND the Site Agent before starting.

6.2 Toolbox Talk/Safe Work Procedure


 A Safe Work Procedure (SWP) may be developed for hazardous/unusual situations
 Workers are required to understand the SWP which will be communicated via Toolbox Talks or, for
hazardous/unusual situations, via SWP
 Ensure all understand the process for gaining access to the workface and that the ladders and access scaffolds have
been checked and approved as safe for use.

6.3 Environmental Monitoring
 Spill or cement wash water – monitor ready-mix trucks and ensure they do not wash off on the site (unless a
dedicated wash area with closed sump is constructed;
 Dust control – monitor dust nuisance caused by this operation and wet down haul roads, accessways, stockpiles and
fills as necessary;
 Spills – ensure form oil is handled carefully and closed and put away when no required;
