In the necessary equipment’s,tools, materials, supplies and information the candidate is expected to
perform the following four projects

Time allowed 4:30

Project one: - LAN configuration

Time allowed 60 minutes

1. Configure a simple local area network LAN) which consists of two computers and a network
printer using hub
Note:- you need to prepare cable for your network
2. Configuration /add the network printer in both computers ,then print and attach test page
3. Join two computers use ICT as work group
4. Share folder from pc 1 to pc 2
Project Two :- Access and Use Internet
Time allowed 60 minutes
1. Using the internet connection available in your computer
 Open internet browser (internet explorer,fire fox Mozilla,opera or any other)
 Browse the Ethiopian government portal(www.ethiopia.gov.et) and make it a default
home page
 Create home page http//:www.yahoo.com
 Change home page http//:www.yahoo.com by http//:www.Gmail.com
 Browse and bookmark the website of Ethiopian reporter Newspaper and Ethiopian air
lines
 Download Toshiba laptop computer NIC 14 driver software
 Upload different documents, pictures to the internet
 Create G-mail Account and E-mail Account and sign in it
2. Using a known search engine find and download an audio and video driver for the lenevo Think
pad Notebook (family T500) which has a windows Vista operating system installed
Project three:- identifying and demonstrating computer hardware
components

Time allowed 60 minutes

Task 1:-Disassemble the Pc major component`s (processor, RAM,Hard disk,NIC (if not Built in),CD-
ROM ,power and data cables)
Task 2:-Write on the paper and demonstrate each hardware components function and reassemble
the system unit by installing all system components are required and then attach your written document
of demonstration
Task 3:-Test the computer functionality to ensure that all components and peripheral’s are working
properly
Task 4:-Propose computer specification for graphic design and multimedia work. The specification
document that you are expected to produce may contain but are not limited to the following
information
 Processor type and speed
 Capacity of memory
 CD-ROM type
 Operating system installed
 Hard disk capacity
Note:- take the specification of the computer that you are working as a referance)

Project four:- design and develop database

Time allowed 1:30 hours

1. One department company has 100 employees .the company would like to have areport contains
the name,birthday,salary,gender of the employee based on their educational
level(MA,BSC,diploma and certeficate). Assume you are working in that companys IT
department and expected to design and develop a database according to requirement. The
database expected to have the following features
 Employee list entry form
 Query on employee with their educational level
 Report of employee categorized by their education
2. Candidate is expected to design and develop a database which has all the features functions
stated above using microsoft office access 2007
