Baguio conducts 2023 CARAA Meet

Baguio City- After three years of not conducting higher level of sports competition, Baguio City
finally conducts the 2023 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) as of
April 29.
Along with the 2023 CARAA Meet, the Regional School's Press Conference (RSPC) and the
Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) were also celebrated to gather every participants from
different divisions to showcase their abilities. Furthermore, a total of 3,328 delegates of the
sports competition and a total of 2,145 of the RSPC and RFOT competitors among the total of
more than 5,000 participants joined this commemoration.
With the theme “Pagbubuklod Tungo sa Matatag, Maginhawa, Panatag, at Makabatang
Bansa,”the 2023 CARAA Meet was officially declared by Francis Ceasar B. Bringas, Secretary
General of the Palarong Pambansa during the opening program. Apart from Secretary Bringas,
Mayor Benjie Magalong, and other Baguio City officials, other provincial, city officials, and
superintendents of the Cordillera, members of the organizing committee of the DepEd CAR and
DepEd Baguio, participants, coaches, principals also joined the program at Melvin Jones Athletic
Ground.
Prior to this event, Assistant Secretary Bringas, the key-note speaker, further mentioned that the
National Palarong Pambansa has now been officially allowed to be played again after three
consecutive years. Moreover, the National Palarong Pambansa will be held at Marikina City
National Capital Region on July 26- August 5 while the RSPC and RFOT will be conducted at
Mindanao particularly in Cagayan de Oro City on July 17, 2023.
