CHAPTER-1

INTRODUCTION

 In rural area electricity are not transmit to consumer also where

electricity is transfer to the consumer. the cost of energy charges per unit
is high & the transmission losses is increases & to the cost & then want
to overcome losses so we need to use...

 In due domain we are produce electricity by using gravity energy.

 The counter weight is connected one end of chain and sprocket

mechanism.

 The counter weight is falling down due to gravity energy and the chain
and sprocket mechanism is connected with step up gear mechanism.

 The step up gear mechanism is increase the rotation like 1/10, 1/16 and
so on..

 If the output rotation is 10 that means the ratio is 1/10 of step up gear
mechanism.

 The generator is mechanically connected with step up gear mechanism

through shaft coupler. The A C generator is rotate, the electricity is
produce and deliver to the electric load.

CHAPTER-2

EMPATHY

2.1 Empathies: understand Your user:

At this stage we will discover & learn about the emotional aspect of
our user. This stage will involve use of empathy map.
An empathy map is a collaborative tool teams can use to gain a deeper
insight into their customers. Much like a user persona, an empathy map can
represent a group of users, such as a customer segment. The empathy map was
originally created by Dave Gary and has been gaining popularity with the agile
community.

2.2 List user activities: These are goal-directed sets of actions— paths
towards things people want to accomplish. What are the modes people work in,
and the specific activities and processes they go through?

 One family member purchase medicine in medical store.

 One person is a drinking a tea.

 One nurse is giving injection patient.

 One person drinking milk.

 family is an eating.

 One bus is coming in this hospital.

 Two people parking his bike.

 The shopkeeper writing a bill list.

 One person starting a fan switch.

 One person opening house door.

 One ladies’ One person driving a car.

 washing a bathroom.

 Two ladies washing the clothes in river pot.

 One child washing our toy

 Children are playing the cricket

 Some person are waiting for bus

 four friends are talking to each other.

 One person is sleeping on road

 One family is going to out of town

2.3 Stories about user:

2.3.1 HAPPY: When we visited in village the one house family purchase a
new car and all family members are very happy and this moment I show and I
will be happy.

2.3.2 HAPPY: when we visited in village the monsoon season the rain fall
and peacock are to dance in rain so I am very happy for this moment.

2.3.3 SAD: In village the one house in one buffalo is died so the house
member are very sad because the buffalo is give to 5ltr. Milk so this moment I
was show this moment and very sad

2.3.4 SAD: We are entering in a hospital ambulance come and there is an

accident person in ambulance. Which is blooding and family members are
crying seen this we become sad.

 One family is going to out of town

3.1.2 Find the variations of user activities

1 :- Drinking:

 Drinking is an every season change the drink. Summer would be required

that cooled water and some different cool drink.
 In rainy season we need hot drink like tea, water, coffee, etc…
 In rainy winter we need hot drink.

2.Driving:
 Driving in rains, Driving in summers or winters; every season will require
 Different way of driving. Summers would require that ac is on or
windows are closed.
 Open in rains quite opposite-windows will be open & wipers will be
running so visibility will be low as compare summer.
 In winter at a fogg time visibility is very low.

3.2 Problem identification:

At this stage we will identify the problems user may face by analyzing &
studying all the variation of his activities. Traveling out is not problem unless
it’s raining. Often normal activities done under different situation lead to
problem. We will identify such problem at this stage.

Step :- (1) Find multiple problems:

EE Department [DE-IIA-2150001] Page 9

ENGINEERING COLLEGE TUWA

Find ass many problem as you can identify among the activities and the
activity variations. Focus on identifying problem which you never thought of
knew about before.

Step :- (2) Select one or two key problem:

Now based on your interest scope of work and capability select one or
two key problem. It will be good idea to solve those problems for user which
the user deeply feels about or is emotive about.

3.2.1 Find multiple problems

(1)Driving:-
Driving in rains, Driving in summers or winters; every season will require
Different way of driving. Summers would require that ac is on or windows are
open ingrains quite opposite-windows will be closed & wipers will be running
so visibility will be low.

Problem identification:-Running condition fans in buses is costly.

Therefore many buses drivers and people would prefer to keep their windows
open. In either case there are a hidden problem. Closed window & ac are more
comfortable but reduce situational awareness of the road – the noise of an
approaching vehicle or horn or are less easily heard.

(1)How to increase cooling in bus through passive system, so that the

temperature range
for which bus can be operated without cooling system is increases ?

EE Department [DE-IIA-2150001] Page 10

ENGINEERING COLLEGE TUWA

IDEATION CANVAS

(2)How to make automobile cooling more fuel economical?

(Related info some student teams in India have been trying to innovate on
creating cooling that use exhaust heat of automobiles to run)
In winters windows will be closed too to keep off the cold winds.

(3)How to increase heating in buses in winters through passive system?

(4)How to make heating more economical in winters or cold climate?

In rains wipers are running with windows closed. So situational awareness
through noise is low but the visibility is low too.

(5)A related problem from the about discussion will be how to quickly inform
the authorities of any accidents on the road/highway? What kind of system can
inform concerned authorities like police, traffic department, highway
authorities, and medical agencies of any accident on road?.

EE Department [DE-IIA-2150001] Page 11

ENGINEERING COLLEGE TUWA

Let’s take some more variation different levels of load. Lightly loaded bus are
easier to brake, heavily loaded bus are more difficult to break, as they have
greater momentum. So drivers need to be more careful for full bus load.

3.3 Solution identification:

Now that problems have been identified, it’s time to start looking at the solution
using the ideation canvas we will look at how we can ideate about solution to
the problems.

CHAPTER 4
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CANVAS

4.1 People, Purpose & experience:

Now we will start with the product development canvas. Product canvas
will require us to start building a structure of our product around the emotional
needs of the user. Building solution around the emotion needs of user is central
to design thinking. People are the many public are using bus. One to other place
go to buses.

Purpose:
 Produce electricity by using gravity
 Energy for ruler area
 Easy to install
 Install and forgot
 Eco-friendly

Product Experience:
 No fuel require
 No pollution
 Less maintenance
 Mobility use possible
 Good experience.
 Some are very interested.

 4.2 Product functions & features: In rural area electricity are not
transmit to consumer also where electricity is transfer to the consumer.
the cost of energy charges per unit is high & the transmission losses is
increases & to the cost & then want to overcome losses so we need to
use...

 In due domain we are produce electricity by using gravity energy.

4.3Components and Prototype Design

1. Chain drive: Chain drive is a way of transmitting mechanical power
from one place to another.

(chain drive)

 The power is conveyed by a roller chain, known as the drive chain or

transmission chain

2.Step-up gear mechanism: A mechanism for transmitting motion

for some specific purpose. Step-up gear is increase the number of
rotational turns.

(step-up gear mechanism)

3.Counter weight: the sprocket is connected with the step up gear

mechanism this gear is increase the rotation by 1/10,1/16..ratio. the output
shaft is connected to the generator.

4.Ac power generator: The ac generator is connected with step-up

gear mechanism through connecting mechanism. The ac generator is
convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.
