1. GENERAL

This document covers the sequence activities for Fixation GRP water Panel Tank

2. PURPOSE

The purpose of This method statement is to be sure that GRP water tank installation for D &B Truck service center
.

3. SCOPE

This Method Statement details the followings,


• Roles & Responsibilities.
• Manpower & Equipment Used.

4. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 Department Manager (DM)


• The DM is responsible for ensuring execution of the sequence of work, according to quality, submittals
and approvals.

4.2 Production Manger


• Will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing Process

4.3 QA/QC Manager


• The Quality Control Manager shall be responsible for all manufacturing process

4.4 Installation Department


• He is responsible for implementation Tanks in the site
• The supervisor needs to confirm whether the installation process is following installation guide.
• It is essential for the supervisor to frequently check the installation safety.

• The supervisor has to check and confirm the panel and accessories quantity when the goods arrive at the
installation site.
• The construction of a water tank is unique, given the fact that orderly putting the parts together can
complete it . As partial assembly is impossible, you need to check whether the work is done properly
during every stage of the assembly process..
• If you find any defect in the parts during the installation process, you need to stop the construction right
away. Then you should report it to our company., Ltd. which will take adequate measure to address it.
During the process, you should prevent workers from replacing them with other manufacturer’s part.
• If the installation is completed, you need to fill up the tank full. Then, the project owner, constructor, and
supervisor should co-operatively perform the test for leaks. And the confirmed test results need to be
reported to the related department.

4.5 Technical Department


• involved with the whole meetings and communication at site with PMT management. He shall proceed on
all the submittals and approvals with PMT.

6. PERSONNEL QUALIFICATION

• All personnel would be competent for the tasks that they will be carrying out,

7. Methodology
7.1 Instructions of Installation and storage recommended

 Unloading by customer : at the nearest point of easy standing – the “Delivery Point”.
 Receipt Signatures: a responsible employee or representative must be on hand to receive the goods.
 Onsite Storage: to store the goods in a clean, safe, secure location, providing necessary product
protection against loss or damage and by fully insuring the goods against loss or damage. Tank Supplier
does not accept responsibility for lost or damaged goods following their delivery to site.
 Site Movement: to ensure the product or components are safely moved from the delivery point to the
immediate vicinity of, the tank foundation. so, the Customer should be moving the components
carfully and If packages are broken, or opened, the Customer will be responsible for the cost of
replacing any damages or shortages.
 Foundation: the concrete foundation for sectional tank types, shall be flat, level and free from any local
irregularities and not vary more than 2mm in any metre or a total of 6mm in any 6 metres measured
laterally or diagonally. The Customer is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of the tank
foundation / supports which must be capable of supporting the tank and its contents without movement.
 Working Space: shall be in accordance with Health and Safety legislation requirements and free from
any debris. A minimum 600mm clearance is required all around the tank for installation and
maintenance. A minimum of 750mm is required above the roof of the tank for installation, access and
maintenance. On handed over on completion of tank installation, the Customer is responsible for its
protection against damage.
 Testing / commissioning: . It is essential that the tank be filled and tested within 10 working days of
complete assembly and for it to remain filled thereafter.
 Sterilisation by customer : tanks should not be sterilised until they have been tested and proved to be
watertight.
 Moving of Sectional Tanks: after installation, it is not advised and no responsibility is taken by the
manufacturer should a tank be moved or repositioned.
 Scaffolding: to be provided issue by the Customer.
 Overflow Discharges: The provision of Regulation compliant pipework capable of conducting any
possible tank overflowing discharges safely and securely to suitable and appropriate drainage facilities
is the responsibility of the Customer.

7.2 Installation Method


Below is the step wise procedure for the installation of GRP Sectional Water Tanks.
• Ensure all civil works are completed for the area of installation, and clearance is obtained from
respective
authorities to proceed further.
• Prior to start the installation, refer to the approved shop drawings related to the area of
installation
and ensure that required materials are available at site as per approved material submittals.
• Ensure the materials are stored properly and there is no mark of damage or deformity of any kind
before issuing the material from site store.
• Water Tanks shall be installed on the concrete beams as per approved foundation Drawings,
ensure adequate space is available for valves, piping and for future maintenance.
• Ensure that concrete beams should be horizontal & smooth finishes from top. Painting if require
in civil detail.
• Steel skid base shall be fixed on the concrete beams.
• Steel skid base shall be leveled properly as required to drain off the Tanks water.
• Base panels shall be installed on the leveled steel skid base.
• Scaffolding must be installed so we can install the sides of the tanks
• Side panels shall be installed on the base panels.
• Gasket shall be put in between the panels for preventing water leakage from joints.
• Tanks panels should be jointed as per manufacturers recommendations by bolts.
• Locations of the panels for inlet, outlet, drain & overflow pipe shall be as per approved shop drawing.
• Installation of the internal accessories is carried out after side panels installation.
• Panels shall be tied internally by steel tie rod for side panels reinforcement and externally by stay
plates as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Inlet, outlet, drain & overflow nozzles shall be connected to Tanks with flange connection.
• Top panels shall be installed on side panels.
• uPVC pipe support shall be provided for roof panels block supports.
• Ladder shall be provided externally and internally.
• All nut bolts to be securely tide with washer.
• Tanks installation is offered for Consultant’s approval.
• After the approval of the Tanks installation works, Tanks shall be allowed for water leak test as per
manufacturer’s recommendations.
• For testing, all openings shall be closed, water shall be filled in the Tanks by temporary water
supply line.
• Air vent shall be installed on each Tanks.
• Water shall be kept inside the Tanks for 24 hours and leaks shall be checked, if any leak found, it
shall be rectified and again offered for the same for consultant approval

8 Water tightness test

8.1 Test method

 If the utility department has already installed water pipes, you can fill the tank while closing the valves
for drain and outlet.
 The water should be filled up to 500 ~ 600 mm, then it will be held for 6 hours (each stage).
 Let the exterior accessories of the water tank free from any drop of water.
 Closely check nozzle, panel, bottom and corner parts.
 The water tightness test should be done while there is a sunlight and fully filling up the water tank.
 If the water tank is installed in the basement or inside of the building, enough lighting is required to
check whether the tanks leaks or not.
 If there is a leak, mark the area with red marker. The Identify any address the cause of water leaks
