1) What has been your favorite part of the class?

My favorite part of the class was probably when we did the Oral History report. I did my
report on the Vietnam War and before doing it I didn’t even know what caused the war,
so it really helped me learn about it. I also enjoyed hearing about my grandparents'
stories from the war, which I probably wouldn’t have ever heard if I didn’t do the report.
2) What lesson or principle will you apply to your life that you have learned from this
class?
I think the biggest lesson that’ll apply to my life is the fact that people actually die in
war, and everyone fighting in a war has their own life and family. Hearing the stories told
in class really makes me appreciate veterans more.
3) How confident do you feel about entering college? What could be done to improve
the class?
I’ve taken quite a few college classes while in high school already, so I think I am pretty
confident and prepared for entering college. Although, I think before I start college I
need to work on doing my assignments earlier rather than waiting until just a few days
before the assignment is due. It’s a little too late to work on it now this year, but I will try
to work on it next year.
4) Recommendations for future students?
I think the biggest recommendation for future students is to take really good notes. I
didn’t realize that until after the first blue book, and I regretted taking bad notes while
doing it.
5) What are your thoughts about America and it's future after taking this class?
Before taking this class, I didn’t really care too much about America or its history, but
now I have a great appreciation for its progress. It went from fighting for independence,
to abolishing slavery, to civil rights, and many more. I think America still has a lot of
progress too be made, but I think it has a bright future.
6) Anything else you would like to say to Professor Jensen?
Thank you so much for being such a great teacher. Normally I don’t care too much
about my history classes and just fall asleep in them, but your class was really amazing.
Your teaching style is really exceptional, and I love how you connected historical events
to the present. While I could’ve done more of the assignments and been more prepared
for the tests, I truly learned a lot from your class.
7) Finally what grade would you give yourself out of 100 on participation and why?
I think I would give myself an 83% in participation because while I didn’t participate as much as
I’d like to in the whole class, I did participate whenever we got into small groups to talk.
