1. Foreword
This boiler is a kind of high-efficiency, low-pollution boiler. It adopts a new technology of
circulation fluidized bed combustion and is different from other type of boilers, so its erection is
also different. The boiler erection should be in compliance with DL/T5047-1995 《 Specification
For Erection and Acceptance of Electrical Construction 》(For boiler unit), and also pay attention
to relating items in the erection manual.
The erection company of boiler must be qualified professional company which have been
checked and approved by technical supervision department. Before erection, the relating drawings
and data must be sent to local technical supervision department for approve, otherwise it is not
allowed to be erected. The segment acceptance of erection quality shall be done by erection
company and customer together, and local technical supervision department shall take part in the
hydrostatic test and final acceptance.
Before erection, boiler fittings and spare parts shall be rechecked according to relating rules,
classified for storage and erected only after being qualified.
The design alteration during the erection of boiler should be approved by the boiler
manufacturer before construction; complete technical record shall be kept after boiler erection.

2. The storage and maintenance of equipment


After receiving the equipment, the customer should ask the manufacturer to send personnel
for equipment check firstly, and keep the equipment on the open air or in the warehouse and do
relating protection according to the type, weight, size and package.
2.1 Equipment allowed to be storage on the open air and relating requirement
The steel structure, platform, ladder, drum, water wall, superheater, economizer, air
preheater and every kinds of headers are allowed to be storage outdoor, but the following
requirements must be obeyed:
When laid down, the equipment should not touch the ground but be kept a certain space; the
stack height of every kinds of coil tubes should not be too high to prevent distortion due to
gravitation; the elbow with big OD shall be stacked downward and covers must be complete and
undamaged.
The drum should be pillowed to make the tubes away from the ground and tubes joint
should be checked to see if it is good.
For the equipments stored in the open air, the anti-corrosion painting on the surface shall be
undamaged; some place where the painting falls off should be cleaned and re-brushed.
2.2 Equipment allowed to be stored outdoor and the requirement

The equipment which are allowed to be stored outdoor are composed of every kinds of
hanger, normal fasteners etc., all of which must be away from the ground and avoid corrosion of
bad weather.
2.3 Equipments not allowed to be stored outdoor and the requirement
The equipments which are not allowed to be stored outdoor consist of every kinds of valves,
instruments, soot blower, sample cooler, balance vessels etc.
2.4 The storage and keeping requirement of torsion type high strength bolt connection
Torsion type high strength bolts which are different from normal bolts is kind of powerful
fastener and the requirement for its transport, storage and keep is relatively high, which requires
that the deviation between axial force of connection and the standard is same in all the process
before erection.
2.4.1In the process of transport, keep and use, the high strength bolt connection shall be
handled with care to avoid damage to thread; the bolts which thread is damaged heavily or be rained
shall not be used.
2.4.2 The bolts connection should be kept in the warehouse by cases where anti-damp
measures are taken for the ground and be classified according to batch number and specification. It
should not be mistaken in the storage. The bottom layer of packing box of high strength bolt
connection shall be supported to be away from the ground with 300mm of height and the yard
height not be larger than 5-6 layers.
2.4.3 The case should not be opened before usage to prevent any damage of the sealing of
package. After getting some bolts, the case shall be repacked well to avoid any dust and corrosion.
2.4.4 When installed, the high strength bolt connection shall be received according to the
planned specification and quantity per day. Regarding to the residual part, keep them well and
send them back to warehouse if possible.
2.4.5 In the process of installation, pay attention to protect the bolt from foreign matters
like dust etc. and any damage of thread. If find any abnormal situation during usage, the installation
should be stopped immediately and be restarted only after approve.
2.4.6 The storage time of high strength bolt connection should not be more than 6 months.
When the storage time is 6 months due to ceased or deferred project, if used again, torque
coefficient test and fastening axial force test are required to be done; and the bolt can be used only
after qualified.

3. Erection and acceptance for part of boiler proper


Before boiler erection, the erection company must be familiar to erection drawing of the
whole boiler unit and make reasonable erection processing. The erection of all parts shall be done

coordinately to avoid unnecessary repeated erection.
3.1 Erection of boiler steel structure.
The boiler steel structure adopts total steel frame structure, and the connection type of main
load-bearing member bar is torsion type high strength bolt; when installed, the installation and
acceptance should be as per JGJ82-1991《The design, installation and acceptance of steel structure
high strength bolt connection》. The boiler steel structure include column, beam, apical plate, and
platform etc. when installed, the boiler should be lifted by groups and the bottom steel structure
shall be erected only after the acceptance of high strength bolts. Pay attention to that all member
bar must be at the required position. No delay and reserved opening is allowed. The erection
company shall take full consideration of that when prepare erection design.
3.1.1M matters needing attention for erection
(1).The measuring instruments must be qualified after inspection, and take the influences of
environment to the result into consideration.
(2).The mat shall be grouted for the second time after alignment, and the it shall be
guaranteed that the fullness of foundation and mat should be more than 85%; it should not be born
without enough time.
(3).All the member bar should be installed in the right direction; ground inspection must be
done for all the member bar, and unqualified member bar can be installed only after repair.
(4).When front beam and column are erected, the size and dimension shall be checked on the
ground; before installation of connection beam and other member bars, all the studs should be
checked for the vertical deviation, and the deviation of every column should be controlled within
1/1000, with the whole single column not beyond 25mm.
(5).Try to cancel the accumulated error in the process of erection.
(6).The main bearing member bars of steel structure are welded by steel plate with material
Q345-B; if thickness of steel plate δ>32, it should be preheated before welding with preheating
temperature within 1000C-1500C
(7).The evaluation of plane general drawing is evaluation of top surface of beam. The roof
beam is supported on the arc base of column top, with its two ends and middle part connected by
bolts for the convenience of installation. After installing the beam, the bolts at outer side should be
loosed about half loop, and tightened only after all the load has been born, and welded with
hydraulic test connection plate.
3.1.2 Erection for connection of high strength bolts
3.1.2.1 On all the connection and friction which touches bolt header, nut and gasket, the
oxide, burr, grease, painting and other foreign matters influencing the tight connection shall be
removed to ensure the anti-slipping coefficient not less than 0.35. The fastening axial force of high

strength bolt should be rechecked and be erected only after being qualified. The friction surface
should be kept to be dry, and operation in the rain is not allowed in order to avoid reducing the
anti-slipping coefficient.
3.1.2.2 The erection flow of torsion type high strength bolts: treatment of friction surface→
assemble of member bar→fastening of temporary bolts→correction for deviation of steel structure
erection→inspection and acceptance for erection of high strength bolt→initial tighten of 50%
torque( initial tightening torque is 300N.M )→recheck and record of structure quality→final
tighten(broken wobbler, tighten torque is 600N.M )→inspection of fastening quality→coating of
dust prevention and anti-corrosion painting.
3.1.2.3 Every connection lug shall be positioned by temporary bolt and alignment pin. In
order to prevent the change of torque coefficient due to damage of thread, high strength bolts are
forbidden to be used as temporary bolts; and the quantity of temporary bolts should not be less
than 1/3 of total quantity and not less than 2. The quantity of alignment pin should not exceed
30% of bolts for erection.
3.1.2.4 The pierce of high strength bolt should be done after regulation of structure center
position and the direction shall be as convenience as possible for the erection; pay attention to see
if it is the front or back side. The side with round bed of nut should face the side with beveling of
gasket.
3.1.2.5 The installation of high strength bolts shall be done naturally, which is forbidden by
force like using hammer. If it cannot be screwed naturally, the hole shall be amended by reamer to
make the biggest diameter of the hole be less than 1.2 times the bolt diameter. To prevent the iron
dust falls in the plate seam, the bolt around the hole shall be screwed up.
3.1.2.6 Regarding to the connection with head of bolt, the surface inclination should not
exceed 1/20 of bolt axial line; if exceeds, gasket for inclined surface shall be used to make up the ant
parallel of joint section.
3.1.2.7 When the high strength bolt is tightened at the beginning and the end, the center part
shall be tightened first and then two sides. The initial tightening torque (M 22) is 300 N.m. The
final tightening shall use special spanner, which ends with remove the wabbler at end part. For
large-size node, initial tightening , re-tightening and final tightening are needed with torque of
re-tightening equal with that of initial tightening.
3.1.2.8 Requirement of joint of column, connecting area and space.
3.1.2.8.1 If the connecting area of its end face is bigger than 70%, the space cannot be
treated.
3.1.2.8.2 If connecting area is smaller than 70% and space is less than 1.6m, gasket is not
needed.

3.1.2.8.3 If connecting area is smaller than 70% and space is between 1.6m and 6.2m, gasket
is needed, which should adopts low carbon steel material with hardness lower than base material
and the joint should not be suspended.
3.1.2.9 Treatment for connection of angle steel and wing plate at end of column, contacting
space of sternum
3.1.2.9.1 If the space is smaller than 1mm, no treatment is needed.
3.1.2.9.2 If the space is between 1mm and 3mm, the splitting of the thicker side should be as
per 1:10 for the transition.
3.1.2.9.3 If the space is bigger than 3mm, gasket is needed, which is required to be treated as
the friction surface.
3.1.2.10 When horizontal supporting is installed, if the manufacture of beam and horizontal
member bar is minus deviation, which is hard to guarantee the erection size, comb gasket is needed.
For each side, 2 gaskets is allowed at most, and the contacting surface of comb gasket should be
clean. If the space is too bigger, one thicker backer shall be adopted, the two sides of which shall be
treated with sand jet. After final tightening and being accepted for each node, it should be coated
with anti-dust and anti-corrosion painting; paint filler should be used where there is space and the
anti-corrosion shall not be coated less than 2 times.
3.1.2.11After final tightening of high strength bolt, the thread should be exposed with 2-3
thread, in which 10% thread is allowed to be exposed with 1 or 4 thread

3.1.3 The installation of platform and ladder should be done as early as possible with that of
steel structure for the convenience of stability of structure and safety of erection. The deviation of
actual and the design value top surface evaluation of platform should not exceed ±10mm, and the
horizontal deviation of platform should not exceed ±10mm; the parts like platform, ladder,
handrail etc. shall be welded tightly with welding seam surface at joint being clean and smooth.
3.2Installation of drum
3.2.1The drum is suspended on the top plate beam by 2 group of hangers. The expansion
center is set on the centerline of drum with 38mm of swelling capacity between 2 hanger at left and
right, each side as 19mm of swelling capacity. Two hangers should deviate 9.5mm towards the
centerline of drum separately; after expansion due to heating, the hanger at 2 sides shall deviate

9.5mm towards 2 sides of boiler separately. Stress on one group of hanger singly is not allowed in
the erection; adjustment of upper nut should be done to make stress on 2 group of hangers evenly.
Other welding parts which is not allowed should not be welded or arc started on the inner and
outer wall of drum
3.2.2 In the process of transportation , handling and storage outdoor of drum, the drum
maybe damaged somehow, so the following work shall be done before suspension setting of drum:
(1)Check the quantity, position, size of pipe joint; check if there is damage on the pipe
joint, and if there is, repair the pipe joint on the site.
(2)Check if there are flaws like cracks, injures etc. on the surface of drum, and if there are,
repair the flaws.
(3)Amend the centerline of drum according to the actual position of pipe joint and shall be as
the basis of installation and alignment of drum.
(4)The drum hanger shall be trial assembled according to the actual OD. Of drum, which is
required that hanger should fit the outer wall of drum well with contacting area not smaller than
70%, the biggest local unfitted length not bigger than 150mm and the space with contacting surface
not bigger than 2mm. unfitted phenomenon should not exit near the pin roll, otherwise contacting
surface of hanger shall be grinded. The pin roll and chain section, chain section and hanger, hanger
and sphere gasket, pyramidal gasket and nut shall be trial assembled on the ground.
3.2.3The suspension installation and alignment of drum
The drum to be lifted shall be moved in the vertical plane in the lifting direction in order to
avoid the whine in the lifting process. The cord should not press on the pipe joint when lifted. The
drum should stay for a while after certain highness away from the ground for the recheck and
alignment of horizontal level of drum, and be lifted slowly up to the installation position after
confirmation. After installation, alignment shall be done strictly according to the relating
requirement; screw up the hanger nut after being accepted.
3.2.3 Inspection and cleaning up of drum internals
Before hydraulic test of boiler, manhole door should be open to check and clean up the drum
internals; gasket shall be laid well to avoid influence of checkers. The articles carried by the
checkers should be counted and recorded before entering and leaving the drum.
The main items for cleaning up and check:
Quantity, assemble quality and position of the drum internals
Tightness of welding seam of separating devices.
Check if foreign matters exist in the drum internals
Close the manhole door after being accepted
3.3Installation of water cooling system

The whole water cooling system is suspended on the top plate beam of steel structure
totally by the water hanger with expansion downward in hot condition. The work like joint of pipe
panels, welding of stiffening brace, doors and holes on the water wall shall be done on the assembly
frame after alignment. In the process of assembly, the assembly frame should not deformed or
sank.
3.3.1The following inspection and cleaning up should be done before assembly:
Check if there are cracks, abrasion and other flaws; if the flaw exceed the standard, it should
be treated according to corresponding requirement.
Before the joint of water wall pipes, ball through test shall be done to remove the foreign
matters in the pipes.
Clean up the inner part of headers to assure that foreign matters do not exist.
Check the hole on the door of pipe panels, the right position of chock to assure the
installation position of fire-ward face.
3.3.2Alignment and welding:
The water wall for each wall should be assembled on one frame as possible as it can; the
emphases of alignment is to adjust the position of each pipe panel in order to achieve smallest
deviation of water wall size, which should not exceed the standard value. The coaxiality shall be
kept especially for the butt joint to prevent contra-aperture of fire-ward side has jut. The welding
seam on the fire-ward side should be smooth and abrasive with the base material; and no jut is
allowed.
3.3.3 Installation for accessory of water wall:
The stiffening braces relating to water wall, fastening nail for furnace wall and sealed parts
needed to be pre-welded shall be assembled on the assembly frame on the ground, which can assure
the installation and quality. The temperature and pressure gauge of furnace are not allowed to
extend out of the inner surface of refractory of water wall.( except for the electrical thermo-couple
anti-wear bushing)
3.3.4 The suspension installation of water wall:
Before lifting of water wall , check the suspension devices; reinforcing and positioning
measures shall be taken for the components to guarantee the relative position of fittings do not
change in the lifting process; after suspension installation, inspection and alignment shall be done
immediately to make the nut of each hanger stressed evenly; pay attention to the consequence of
panel water wall and other water wall when installed.
3.3.5Assembly of furnace:
After installation of 4 furnace water wall, 4 water wall shall be welded into a whole part
according to the drawing; demolish all the positioning plate, arch centering and etc. The contacting

surface should be grinded to be smooth.
3.3.6 Installation of centralized downcomers:
Regarding to the installation of centralized downcomers, adjust the installation direction on
site to guarantee the guide devices is tangent to the guide frame
3.4Installation of superheater.
The superheater consists of ceiling SH., enclosure SH at end part, low temperature SH, panel
SH, high temperature SH and etc.
The ceiling SH, enclosure SH at end part and panel SH are membrane wall structure, and the
high temperature SH and low temperature SH are coil structure. Except for referring to requirement
of water cooling system, the following requirements shall be followed:
3.4.1Inspection and assembly
According to the hoisting equipment capacity on site, refer to the set weight of heating
surface part and installation consequence and decide the division of suspension setting components.
The following questions should be considered in the process of assembly:
The assembly work shall be done on the frame which has been aligned. The frame cannot be
deformed in the process.
Ball through test should be done for each coil tube to avoid foreign matters in the inner part.
All the headers, pipes shall be cleaned and checked thoroughly; remove the foreign matters
like oxide.
Compo pipe shall be rechecked with light spectrum to confirm the material compliance with
requirement in the drawing
When amend the compo pipes, it should be done strictly according to the standard; heat
treatment shall be done if it is necessary.
The material for outlet part of high temperature SH pipes is T91. Its requirement is high for
welding, so there should be practical welding procedure qualification record to assure the welding
quality.
3.4.2Hositing and installation.
High temperature SH and low temperature SH are made of coil tubes, which is suspended at
the shaft by economizer hanging pipe. When installed, the bank of tubes shall be smooth; the space
between 2 banks of tubes should be even in order to avoid flue gas corridor. The bank of tubes is
welded with header through the enclosure SH; pay attention to the processing consequence to
avoid redundant work. Anti-wear cage is set on the first and secondary row of tubes; check if the
anti-wear cage falls on site; complement it if it falls.
Panel SH adopts membrane wall structure, which is suspended on the steel structure of
furnace top by hanger. It expands upwards, and the expansion joint can absorb the relative

expansion between panel SH and water wall, so bank of tubes shall be smooth and regular, and no
block between the panel SH and water wall is allowed.
Water spraying desuperheater are arranged in front and rear part of panel SH separately.
When installed, the steam flow direction shall be considered, and it cannot be inserted backward.
3.4.3M easuring point of wall temperature
After installation of SH, according to the drawing of measuring point arrangement( steam and
water side), the measuring point of wall temperature shall be set at the following position:
Tubes at outlet of panel SH
Tubes at outlet of low temperature SH
Tubes at outlet of high temperature SH
3.5Installation of economizer
The economizer is divided into 4 groups and suspended in the aven by hanging pipes. Each
group of tubes consists of coil tubes. Refer to the water cooling system and superheater system
when installed. As the hanging pipes bear all the load of high temperature SH, low temperature SH
and economizer, the butt welding seam of hanging pipes should be welded well to guarantee the
strength safety of hanging pipes
3.6Air preheater
The air preheater adopts horizontal arrangement, and it is supported on the supporting beam
by steel structure. The upper and lower position of header shall be noticed. Check the outer
surface of header before installation, and repair or replace the damaged tubes. Level the deformed
position and remove the foreign matters in the pipes; the part between header and closed box shall
be welded according to the drawing to guarantee enough strength and good sealing; if necessary,
some expansion shall be cold drawn on site according to the drawing; asbestos plate or asbestos
rape shall be laid between pipe plate of header and the lower bracket to assure the good sealing. Air
leakage test shall be done with cold and hot air duct after installation in order to reduce the leakage.
3.7Installation of fluidized bed
The fluidized bed is composed of burning chamber fluidized bed and re-injector fluidized bed.
Nozzle buttons are welded on air distributor at site to ensure fluidized bed quality, and connecting
pipes shall be vertical to air distributor. Nozzle buttons shall be covered by plastic pipes or plastic
cloth and temporary fixed, then refractory concrete shall be poured and then plastic pipes and
cloth shall be removed and aeration of buttons shall be checked.
Small-hole nozzle buttons shall be installed on down-coming section of re-injector fluidized
bed and big-hole nozzle buttons shall be installed on up-rising section, no counter-installation is
acceptable.
3.8 Installation of guard board

To ensure sealing of boiler proper, guard boards are arranged for sealing outside boiler proper
except membrane wall furnace and superheaters. Disconnected welding shall be adopted to welded
joint to discharge water in boiler wall during drying oven, fully welding shall be taken after drying
according to drawings and without any break welding and miss welding. Installation of guard board
(Including sealing board) shall be coordinated with building of furnace wall, sealing parts shall be
installed according to drawings strictly. Board connected with pressure parts shall be welded
before hydraulic test.
3.9 Building of furnace wall
Requirements for furnace wall material and building is high due to the combustion style of
this boiler. The furnace wall shall be built according to the drawings strictly. M aterial used shall be
purchased according to drawings too, and materials shall be re-checked according to relevant quality
specifications, unqualified materials can’t be purchased and used.
Building quality of burning chamber, cyclone separators and re-injector wall lead to the
life-span of the whole boiler, so building at these places shall be done according to relevant
specifications strictly. Building of insulation bricks shall be smooth, bricks seam shall less than
5mm and uniform. Un-convenient places shall be filled with insulation concrete and can’t be filled
with brick scrap. Building of insulation concrete shall apply to engineering standard to ensure
building quality.
Outside membrane wall shall be covered withδ20 alumina silicate refractory fibro felt and
connecting seam shall be staggered. Furnace wall shall be fastened.
Burning chamber wall shall be smooth and deviation of vertical angel and thickness can`t
exceed specified parameters. Concrete of burning furnace shall be done after welding and working
quality shall be attention especially at elbow pipe section. Pipes which will go trough wall shall be
covered byδ2 asphaltum or felt paper and then concreter can be poured to ensure pipes can
expansion freely at hot condition.
Expansion seam shall be set apart and there can’t be any grout, brick crap and other sundry
in it, the expansion seam shall be filled with refractory concrete.
3.10 Installation of thermal expansion indicator
Installation of plane (vertical) expansion indicators shall apply 72500-4-0 thermal expansion
system drawing, and extra install position shall be confirmed at site.

4. Hydraulic test

Water pressure test contains working pressure and overpressure test, which is according to
Technical Supervision Regulation for safety of Steam Boilers

4.4 Requirement and preparation for water pressure test
4.4.1 The water for water pressure test should be softened water or desalinated water,
deaerating water should be used for boiler startup after water pressure test, water temperature is
between 20~70℃
4.4.2 Boiler heating area, piping with boiler proper and auxiliaries should be done water
pressure test, water level only with working pressure test, safety valve without water pressure
test, and blowdown flash bank should be isolated with water pressure test
4.4.3 There must be the way of dropping pressure to prevent overpressure
4.4.4 Emergency drain valve is flexible and drain pipe is smooth before testing
4.4.5 Ensure water pressure system is isolated with turbine
4.4.6 Pressure gauge, temperature meter, water meter, flow meter, electrical valve, control
valve and feed pump should be available
4.5 Water pressure test
4.5.1 Start feed pump and control water feed through bypass. When feeding water,
recirculation should be open wide to reduce oxygen content, difference temperature between water
going into the drum and drum wall should not be more than 50℃, environment temperature of
water pressure test should not lower than 5℃. The feeding time in summer should not be less than
2 hours and 4 hours in winter.
4.5.2 Check and record expansion indicator figures before and after feeding water
4.5.3 When drum water level comes up to +300mm, stop feeding water and check it
completely
4.5.4 There is a special personnel to control when feeding water, and close air valve when air
valve has spilled water for 1-2 minutes
4.5.5 Close total water-feed valve, and raise pressure through primary desuperheating
control valve, and the rate cannot exceed 0.3M Pa/min
4.5.6 When pressure increases to 1.1M Pa, stop raising pressure and check it completely,
when there is no any abnormality, continue to increase pressure
4.5.7 When pressure increased to 11.0M Pa, close water-feed valve and check it completely
4.6 Water pressure test standard
4.6.1 There is no leakage or humidity for pressure parts

4.6.2 Pressure part is not out of formation
4.6.3 When stop feeding water for 5 minutes, descending value of pressure can not exceed
0.5M Pa.
4.7 Overvoltage Test
4.7.1 Under working pressure and test is qualified, continue to raise pressure which rate is
not more than 0.1M Pa/min and, and when coming up to test pressure 13.8M Pa, stay 20 minutes
and then reduces to working pressure. Examination is not allowed to do during overvoltage test
4.8 Overvoltage Test Standard
4.8.1 M etal wall and welding seams do not have any globule and water leakage trace
4.8.2 M etal material does not have obvious deformation
4.8.3 Pressure should be kept stable during examination
4.9 Pressure step-down
4.9.1 Pressure should be reduced slowly that rate cannot exceed 0.3~0.5M Pa/min
4.9.2 When pressure reduces to 0.2M Pa, open air valve and air exhaust valve
4.9.3 When pressure reduces to 0, all drain valves are open to blow out water; if water
quality is qualified by chemical test, water is blew out to water level of ignition.
