PROTECTING

CHILDREN'S RIGHT
GROUP 10
BACKGROUND
Children's rights are fundamental rights that
guarantee the proper growth and development of
all children. Children have the right to be with
their parents and to have a human identity.
Violence causes serious physical and
psychological harm to children, impairs their
development, and violates their right to
protection.
What makes it a problem?
As we are one with our national hero Dr.
Jose P. Rizal, who believed that the
youth is the hope of our country hence it
is essential that we protect them
especially because they are the most
vulnerable.

If we are able to address the challenges

that are getting in the way of children's
rights, we will be a better country with an
amazing future ahead.
GOALS
1. Improve the implementation of laws that
relate to children’s rights.

2. Strengthen the concerned agencies by

institutionalizing social programs that will ensure
the welfare of the children and the youth.

3. Implement a self-sustaining system that will

monitor the situation of the children/youth
population to provide security, educational and
financial support.
ACTION PLAN FOR
PROTECTING CHILDREN'S RIGHT
CHILD LABOR
Step 1: Improve the economic situation by engaging in
collaborations between trading partners as well as the
private sectors.

Step 2: Create job opportunities through investments

to solve the problem of unemployment in order to
prevent child labor.

Step 3: Improve social programs and social services

that will strengthen the social safety net in the country.

Step 4: Intensify the implementation of R.A 9231 which

is an act for the elimination of child
labor.
EDUCATION
Step 1: Emphasize the right to education of every child for it is one of the
universal human rights. We can achieve that every child will have an access to
education by building local public schools.

Step 2: Implement a nationwide feeding program from kindergarten to grade 3

to combat malnutrition.

Step 3: Ensure that every student regardless of the strand will be eligible to
receive financial aid may it be through scholarship programs, cash assistance
from the LGU, etc.

Step 4: Improve the current curriculum by focusing on skills and knowledge

pertinent to the future career of the students. Remove unnecessary subjects
and let the student design his/her program in order for the student to control
the skillset that he/she will learn throughout the course. This will make our
education system more globally competitive.
ABUSE
Step 1: Through education, integrate topics that relates to the importance
of love and connection between partners and discuss how important the
foundation of the relationships is in ensuring the success of their union. This
will encourage a healthy living environment for both parties.

Step 2: Create a children’s desk in every barangay which will act as the first
agency to respond to complaints of child abuse: physically, emotionally and
psychological.

Step 3: Enhance the counseling program of DSWD and ensure that every
child will have access to it. Aside from this, DSWD should create a Quick
Response Team that will be tasked to rescue the abused children.

Step 4: Educate families especially parents, through seminars that will

promote the importance of mental health and a healthy environment to a
growing child. This is to lessen the possibility of abuse which will have an
adverse effect on the growth of the child.
