PREAMBLE

Bishop Thomas Labrecque Girls’ Secondary School is a newly established, an ordinary level
with inclusive Education also aiming at having Advanced Level in the near future.

The school Registration no.S5269 Centre no.S5870. The school is a private non-Sectarian
institution providing students with skills, Knowledge, values and integral formation according to
the ministry of Educational policy of Tanzania.

The major concern of this school was to respond to the community’s outcry and Kagera Region,
at large since for a long time there has been a great burning need for the establishment of the
girls’ secondary school with inclusive education.

The sisters of our Lady of Good Counsel with the blessing of Bishop of Bukoba Diocese
mobilized the community and people of good will, to embark on construction of girls’ Secondary
school with inclusive education.

The School is named after our founder Bishop Thomas Labrecque whose intention was to
educate the Lowly of the Society for our case offering integral formation to a girl child and the
Marginalized.

The institute of the Sisters of our Lady of Good counsel is a Catholic Religious for women

founded in Uganda East-Africa in the year 1937 with its headquarters in Mbarara-Uganda.

The institute operates in Catholic Dioceses in the countries of Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda. In
Tanzania the Sisters of our Lady of Good Counsel are found in Bukoba Catholic Diocese,
Kigoma and Tabora Arch Diocese.

In Kigoma the sisters offer Educational Services at Bonconsilii Girls’ Sec School in Bukoba
Catholic Diocese render services at st. Achilles English Medium Primary School, and so is
Bishop Thomas Labrecque Girls!
