First-aid kits purchased from your local


retailer or safety supplier should be
adequate for most nonindustrial
employers.

DAY 2 – Emergency evacuation and Emergency Exits

What you need for DAY 2:


 Do a walk-around to identify evacuation routes and exits

 Evacuation plan

 Evacuation map

 Emergency phone numbers

 Exit signs for exits and routes

Develop an evacuation plan for


emergencies.

Clearly mark routes and exits.

DAY 3 - Electrical

What you need for DAY 3:


 Do a walk-around, focusing on the following:

– Extension cords; ground pins

– Power cord integrity

– Breaker boxes clear accessibility

– Waterproof covers on equipment outdoors or at wet locations

temporarily.

All three–pronged extension cords must have


ground pins in place.

What you need for DAY 4:


 Do a walk-around, focusing on the following:

– Chair general conditions

– Chair adjusted to the employee

– Materials stored safely

 Chairs must be in good condition.

 Adjust the chair to the person.

 Training is usually needed.

temperature, lighting and noise should
be at the person’s level of comfort.

 Do a walk-around, focusing on the following:
– Bathrooms
– Water fountains
– Waste disposal
– Drainage
– Scrap materials
– Spills

Toilets and washing facilities must be kept


clean and functional.

 Bathrooms should be stocked with


supplies:
– Soap

– Towels

– Paper

 Drinking water must be provided from


a clean source:
– Water fountain

– Individual cups

– Bottled water

 Waste and scrap should be kept in


clean and closed containers.
 Consider recycling materials.

Spills should be cleaned promptly.
