PREFACE

This Mini Project “MENDIFY.COM” is the idea that I came up with to


solve the ever-increasing demand of ‘ONLINE REPAIRING
SERVICES’ at home for busy public who work hard at work and have no
time waste, so they need immediate service. My idea will solve the need
of mechanic / plumbers for people who find it difficult to get a good
mechanic or service for their home. They want services that fits the
requirement to do some work and make them go through busy life by
releasing them from house responsibilities of repairing.

This idea is a life changer as it not only allows our public new job
opportunities via online but at the same time also helps customers to look
for online mechanic and repairing services according to their need.

This platform helps customer to choose trusted professionals for services at home such as
repairing, mending, and plumbing. This platform will create jobs opportunities for various
people and professionals.
The services we include home maintenance and repairs, appliance repairs, plumbing, and
providing insurance on appliances.

Let’s face facts. In today’s world, our appliances are an essential part of our daily lives. Just
think of what would happen if your fridge or washing machine just decided to stop- an
occurrence like this could easily throw your whole day off track! Thankfully, an easy solution

stages.

do house chores all the time without any delay. According to the survey done, it
is clear that 45% of the people are willing to pay up-to 15 to 20 thousand per

It is clear from the survey that people are looking for part time maids. And they
are willing to schedule the working time on their own accord. And we can also
conclude that the survey population are mostly bachelors since they don’t have
family and don’t need maid full time, so they fixed the maid’s working time.

electronic appliances. Hence, insurance will help the business to generate more revenue
through its customers.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
INTRODUCTION
Methodology is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of study. It
comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a branch of
knowledge. Typically, it encompasses concepts such as paradigm, theoretical model, phases and
quantitative or qualitative techniques.

This chapter aims to understand the research methodology establishing a frame of evaluation and
revaluation of primary and secondary research. The technique and concepts used during primary
research to arrive at findings. Which are also deal with and lead to a logical decision towards the
analysis and result.

RESEARCH DESIGN
I propose to conduct an intensive primary and secondary research to understand the full impact and
implication of the industry to review and critique the industry norms and reports, on which certain
issues shall be selected, which I feel remain unanswered or liable to change , this shall be further
taken up in the next stage of exploratory research. This stage helps me to restrict and select only the
important question and issue, which inhabit growth and segmentation in the industry.

SOURCES FOR DATA COLLECTION:

(a) Primary data collection


It has been collected by forming a proper questionnaire. Questionnaire is a systematic and
structured manner of collecting data for conducting experiment. The nature of the questionnaire is
very inductive and fundamental. It has been kept in a proper framework to make it clear to the
retailers. Primary data can be collected in five main ways:
i) Observation, ii) Focus groups, iii) Surveys, iv) Behavioral data, v) Experiments

(b) Secondary data collection


Secondary sources Information was collected from secondary sources such as customer survey,
newspapers advertisements, newsletters, etc.
Beside these the use of Internet was also made in collecting relevant information. The data collected
from the above-mentioned sources has been adequately structured and used at appropriate places in
the report. The information gathered included: Their annual reports, Pamplets. Newsletters, Pictures.

DATA COLLECTION
Data collection took place with the help of filling of questionnaire. The questionnaire method as
come to the more widely used and economical means of data collection. I found it essential to make
sure the questionnaire was easy to read and understand to all spectrums of people in the sample. It
was also important as research to respect the samples time and energy hence the questionnaire was
designed in such a way that its administration would not exceed4-5 mins. The questionnaire was
personally administered .The first hand information was collected by making the people fill the
questionnaire. The primary data collected by directly interacting with the people. The respondents
were contacted at their workplace and home. The data was collected by interacting with 100
respondents consisted of house makers , students ,businessman ,professionals etc. The required
information was collected by directly interacting with these respondents.

SAMPLE SIZE
I have targeted 100 people in the age group of 10-60 years for the purpose of the research. The
target population influences the sample size. The target population represents the people from Delhi
Ncr and the people were from different backgrounds. The details of our sample and data
representation are shown in chapter 3.

The outcome of the project is the online version of Travel Guide Android mobile application
that contains seven pages all together which are described below.
Home Page:
The “Home” page is the main page that shows two options to select such as “Phrases”
and “Search repairing services”.

i. Phrase Page:
If someone selects “Phrases” then it leads the person to the second page
that contains the basic phrases in English in three different scenarios including
“repair”, “services” and “insurance on appliance”. Besides, the user can also listen to
the audio of many languages. Figure (ii-1) and Figur(ii-2) describes the phrase
functions of our model.

ii. Search Transportation Medium Page


If someone selects “Search Transport Medium”, then it leads that person to the
“Map” page where the user can see the map and mark his/her current location
and the desired destination in track the mechanic location to know the transport
information. As soon as he/she selects the source.

and destination, the map will provide the detailed routing information including
distance between two places, shortest duration to be reached to the destination and
finally the associated routes, for example, by bus, CNG and rickshaw. Ultimately,
the user can go back
to the “Home” page from the “Map” page.

System Deployment
For deploying the system, one of the members from our team who works as
project manager will contact with the mendify.com. The company agency will
upload our project in their website so that users can subscribe it from that.
System Evaluation and Modification
We have evaluated the system multiple times by ourselves and other non-cs users
who gave us feedback. Based on our parallel testing, we modified our system.
User Manual
It’s quite easy to use the application. Below are the instructions:
i. Phrases:
Once tap on Phrases tab; there will be three options which are repair,
services, and insurance on appliances. You can select services tab to learn how to
conversate in application, similarly for both services of plumbing and insurance on
appliances. Tap on the audio button to listen to the conversation in voice. The
navigations at the bottom allow you to either come back to Phrase or Home page
ii. Routing:
Tap twice if you want to zoom-in. Select two places (your location and your
destination) to put the marker. Then it will show routing information including the
distance between two places, the shortest time to travel between two places and the
cost by different travelling way.

For all activities, we must declare the intent filters in the manifest file.

Google Maps APIv2:


Travel Guide App uses Google Maps API v2 to execute showing the map, add
markers on to map and obtain users latitudes and longitudes [4].
In order to use Google Maps service, the application needs to register for a developer
key on the Web developments. There are two main step to obtain the developer
key:
First, on the tab Windows on Eclipse > Preferences > Android >Build, copy the SHA1 fingerprint.
Second, follow the url: https://code.google.com/apis/console/ On the left, go to APIs &
auth > Credentials > Create new Key > Android Key. In the pop-up window, there are two
pieces of information that need to fill: SHA1 fingerprint and the project package name
separated.

RESULT OF THE STUDY
50% of the company’s revenue is being generated by 2 services
i.e. repairing services at home and
Insurance provided to customers at home.
Out of 100 respondents 82 respondents preferred online application for repairing
and rest 18 respondents preferred plumbing services.
59% was the trail complete ratio and 41% was the trail cancelled
ratio. 75% of the respondents were medically fit while 25% were not.
The above graph shows that 14% of respondents are very satisfied with
MENDIFY.COM Services, while 43% are satisfied and rest 43% are normally
satisfied with MENDIFY.COM services .Since MENDIFY.COM operated in
service industry so customer satisfaction matter a lot for them. If any company
wants to be successful in service industry they really need to work on customer
satisfaction, here customer preferences and choices are given priority, so as to
provide them what they actually want but in this dynamic environment which keeps
on changing it becomes difficult for the firms to cope up with the needs and wants of
customer. Every customer has its own choices and preferences or we can say choices
and preferences differ from individual to individual and that becomes challenging
for the companies to provide right quality and quantity of service at right time.
● It is necessary for an organization to interact and communicate with customers on a
regular basis to increase customer satisfaction
● . In these interactions and communications it is required to learn and determine all
individual customer needs and respond accordingly. Even if the products

are identical in competing markets, satisfaction provides high retention rates .For
example, shoppers and retailers are engaged with frequent shopping and credit cards
to gain customer satisfaction, many high end retailers also provide membership cards
and discount benefits on those cards so that the customer remain loyal to them.

● Higher the satisfaction level, higher is the sentimental attachment of customers with
the specific brand of product and with the supplier. This helps in making a strong and
healthy customer-supplier bonding. This bonding forces the customer to be tied up
with that supplier and chances of defection very less. Hence customer satisfaction is
very important panorama that every supplier should focus on to establish a renounced
position in the global market and enhance business and profit.

LIMITATIONS:
✓ Intangibles- Unlike products, services are intangible. This means that there is
nothing to demonstrate or display for prospective buyers.
✓ Individuality. Many services are completed to meet the needs of one individual
or firm
✓ Time. Services take time to perform and time to sell.
✓ Mistrust.- In many cases, potential clients are more likely to mistrust service providers
than products. If a client purchases a product that he is not happy with, in most cases ,he
can simply return it. But in the case of services, the damage is already done.
