METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the research design, population, sample size, and sampling technique, the
respondents, research instruments, data-gathering procedure, and the statistical treatment of the gathered
data in the assessment of the English language speaking and writing skills of the third-year students under

The study utilizes qualitative research, where the researchers gather information on the
respondent’s outputs. The design is subjective and focused more on establishing answers to the reasons of
the existing problem in English language speaking and writing skills of the third-year students under the
Department of Industrial Technology Major in Drafting at Cavite State University CCAT Campus. The
objective of this study is to assess the speaking and writing skills of the third-year students under the

The sources of this research were gathered from the participants and sources. The main data is
from the students and teachers in-dept interview to ensure accurate information that will be used in the

In this study the researcher's made their self-made interview questionnaires which were validated
by the validator. The interview questionnaire is a set of questions prepared by the researcher designed to
collect and gather factual information. To gather information the researcher will have a one- on-one

Ethical Consideration
The researchers will be guided by the following guidelines in conducting the interview. The
researchers will formulate a formal letter, duly noted by their thesis adviser, asking permission from the
director of instruction of the university to conduct the study through one-on-one interviews with the
selected respondents. Another letter, also duly noted by their thesis adviser, will be sent to the prospective
respondents, asking permission to conduct a study about the assessment of the English language speaking
and writing skills of the third-year students under the Department of Industrial Technology Major in
Drafting. The researcher will set the time and schedule to the interview based on the free time, schedules
