 Observe & Record the Fact

- Customer just build vessel “STRIKE FORCE” and powered by 3x CATERPILLAR C32 marine
engine and 2x CATERPILLAR C4.4 Generator set
- STBD engine with SN ZP201310 is on the list to do PI33500 for checking bolt torque sea water
pump gear

Probable Root Cause

- Refer to service letter for PI33500, Bolt torque for the sea water pump gear is not tight enough
and need to check.

Repair as Directed

- Remove auxiliary water pump group from the engine.

- Check bolt torque for sea water pump gear, value of torque is 55 +/- 7 Nm.
- Found torque bolt is correct
- Re-install auxiliary water pump to engine
- Completing all removed lines
- Running test engine and monitoring engine after do PI33500

Finding During Inspection

- Vessel is prepared to shipment to buyer

- Bolt torque is good

Recommendation

- Do preventive maintenance refer to caterpillar operation and maintenance manual schedule.
