此畫是敦煌最早的橫幅連環故事畫。畫師考慮到九色鹿拯救溺人及王后要求國王捕捉九色鹿是同時發生的，所以將這兩個情
節繪於壁畫兩端，再分別向中心發展，交滙到中間的結局。

This painting in the form of a comic strip is notably the earliest sequential narrative painting at Dunhuang. Considering that the episode
of the deer saving the man and the episode of the queen urging the king to catch the deer are happening simultaneously, the painter has
depicted two narrative strands respectively starting from either end of the mural and finally ending at the centre.
