To the members of the Command Group, Regional

Staff, men and women in Uniform, and to everyone
around, a pleasant morning to all of you!

My warmest congratulations to the newly promoted

police colonel, PCOL SALMAN H SAPAL, for a well-
deserved promotion.

I believed that this promotion came through because

of the hard work and effort you have put in the
performance of your duties and responsibilities.

It is because you have shown your best that makes

you worthy of the rank that is donned to you. However, I
do hope that more than the joy of being promoted, you
have realized that with great power comes great
responsibility.
 It might sound cliché, but this is reality, as you go
up the hierarchy, greater responsibilities await.

Having said, I hope that you are ready to stand up

for these responsibilities and play your role for the PNP
and the public who are expecting greater things from
you.

May this promotion push you more to work

diligently, religiously and honestly to make people see
that more than our lapses, lies the heart of a policeman
who genuinely cares for his family, for the community,
and who loves his country and is willing to risk and
gamble his life for others to live.

I am saying this because I know and I believe by

heart that majority of the police force are sincere in the
performance of their duties. Many are willing to pay the
ultimate price if the situation demands.

We shall not allow the mistakes of the few to drag

down what we have worked so hard to achieve, that is to
make people safe and secured around us.
 I humbly ask you to maintain your strong
commitment to public service and to stick to the PNP
core values at all times.

Stand up for that pride, that here in PRO 12, we are

more than on how people see us, we are more than
what is expected of us, we give more than what is asked
of us.
