New Bench Seats

Located near the entry to the old schoolhouse are two awesome new benches for your sitting
pleasure! We are very grateful for the new addition to our school yard courtesy of Dromana
Secondary College. The benches were designed and made by Josh, Mia and Carsha under the
guidance of teacher Jamie Russell-Mudge. We love the local connection and story behind them and
know our students will enjoy them a lot!

Have a great week!

STEM TERM 2
Hello everyone,

What a wonderful first semester we have had in STEM for 2023. We have been continuing our
focus on technology and our Year 5 and 6 students have been so excited to get into Minecraft
Education in Term 2. Our senior students have enthusiastically taken on the coding and gaming
requirements of this amazing educational program. They have also been improving a range of
resourcing, building and teaming skills through a combination of targeted tutorials, build
challenges and open game play. Well done to all students for embracing this learning (and fun)
program.
Performing Arts Newsletter – week 8

Music Camp is happening this week for 13 dedicated students from Rye PS. At Camp, we meet with 5
other local schools, make new friends, learn about a dozen new songs, and perform for our families
at the end in a BIG concert with about 100 other musicians.

If you are interested in playing an instrument, please see Miss Parker.

Bigger, Better Brains (BBB) is an Australian company founded by Dr Anita Collins. BBB advocate for
Music Education and promote the many benefits of playing an instrument by using the most recent
neuromusical research. See imagaes below:

Foundation students have been making their very own pitch patterns.

Year 5 and 6 have been working on playing a folk song on the xylophone or chime bars.
