Cub Cheers: Way to go to the students in Mr. Shafrans Class, they did our
Friday Morning Announcements and were super! Congratulations to the
following students for receiving Cox Cub of the Week: Joslyn Bock,
JJ Cordova, Brayen Moore, Katie Moffitt, Layla Ellis, Darian Robles,
Hailey Parrott, Brock Parrott, Juliana Antipolo, Justine Antipolo,
Christian Bergonzoni, Kingston Cutler, and London McCormick.

Thank You Mothers and Grandmothers: We had such a wonderful turn-out


for our Mothers & Muffins day on Friday, we ran out of sweet treats and
coffee! To make it up to all our wonderful Moms, we are going to invite the
Moms to join us on June 1st with our Dads for the Dads and Doughnuts
breakfast.

Milers News: FINAL DAY OF MILERS IS FRIDAY, MAY 19TH!

Great Teachers Recognized: Congratulations to Mr. Orth, one of our fifth


grade teachers and Mr. Acuna, our PE Teaching Assistant for being
awarded Teacher and Support Staff of the Year for DMC in Performance
Zone 10. They attended a wonderful award banquet hosted by the zone last
Thursday. We are very proud of them!

Annual DMC Parent Survey: Thank you families for turning in the annual parent survey. The
surveys turned in and the results are always kept on hand in the front office for parent review. The
results are listed below
2017-2018 School Year

Campus Question DMC Campus will remain the same; closed in the morning and open in the afternoon.

Open House & Orientation will be on the same day with a special session for families

PTA Question Preferred time is 6 pm for meetings with child(ren) being able to attend with parent(s).

Supply/Program Funding Parents would be able to support programs/supplies not funded through district
Support Question estimated at $25.00.

Apple Core Winner: Congratulations to Alison Bollard, who was an Apple Core winner from our school this year! Her and
her family will be attending an awards ceremony at CT Sewell on the 24 th where she will be recognized for all her hard work
and participation with the Apple Core program! Way to Go Alison Bollard!

Change for 2017-2018 School Year: Parents, next year 2017-2018, there will be NO treats or lunch items allowed to be
passed out for student birthdays to the whole class in the lunchroom or the classrooms. Types of treats/lunch items
include (but are NOT limited to) pizza, drinks, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, candy, ice-cream. You may still bring YOUR OWN
child(ren) a special treat for lunch but no longer for the entire class. Whole class food items/drinks will not be allowed to be
checked in at the front office.

There will be NO School Organizational Team meeting for the month of June.

Staffing Update (final posting): As previously posted in past Newsletters, staffing and staffing within grade levels are
always subject to change (even right up to the first day of school). There is NO form to submit for requesting teachers, please
write a letter to administration or send an email, it will be date stamped by the front office and submitted to Mrs. Imboden.
We are accepting parent letters for teacher requests, please select a first and second choice. Letters and/or emails without 2
choices will be not be accepted. Due to possible staffing changes, your request may not be granted.

ALL REQUESTS MUST BE MADE BY MAY 19TH. NO REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER
FRIDAY, MAY 19TH.
If your child is placed in a requested classroom and that teacher leaves over the summer, you will NOT get your second
choice; your child will be placed based on student count. REQUESTS ARE NOT A GUARANTEED PLACEMENT. As of
