1.2 DESIGN OF SLABS:

i. Basement Slab: (Flat Slab System)

Figure 1.1 Statical System of Basement Roof

 Own weight = 0.30* 2.5 = 0.75 t/m2

 Slab Thickness = 30 cm
 Covering = 150 kg/m2 = 0.15 t/m2
 Live load = 250 kg/m2 = 0.25 t/m2 ⇛ ( ‫) غرف سكنية‬
 Wall load = 300 kg/m2 = 0.30 t/m2
Solving This flat slab By Using CSI Safe program:
 D.L = O.W +W wall + Covering material

Then an autocad2016 3D model was made using these co-ordinates. Then, this model was
exported to Sap2000 as a dxf file.
Loads added to the model :
Dead load : 50 kg/m2 As covering material
Live Load : 100 Kg/m2 As maintainance and construction load.
Then membrane forces (f11,f22) and shear force (f12) and diagonal tension(fmax) and
diagonal compression (fmin) were investigated.
This analysis showed that manual analysis give higher results than finite element analysis
(approximately twice).
,so manual design results for shell were adopted and used.

Use 115 Φ 20 (6 Φ 20 /m)

External Reinforcement

Use 175 Φ 20 (8 Φ 20 /m)

Step (3) HZ Reinforcement

Assuming that :

- We shall use 7Φ12 /m stirrups perimeter and Asp for Φ12= 113 mm2

- The Volume of the stirrups in (1 meter)

- Outer perimeter

Vs = n*Asp*(π*Ds) = 7*113*(π*6920) = 17.2*(10)6 mm3

- Inner perimeter

Vs = n*Asp*(π*Ds) = 7*113*[π*(2*(3000-40))] = 14.7*(10)6 mm3

Vs total = Vs Inner + Vs Outer = 17.2*(10)6 +14.7*(10)6 = 31.9 (10)6 mm3

Vs min = 0.25% Ac = 100
*10.21*(10)6 *1000 = 25.53*(10)6 mm3 < Vs total OK
