CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

The COVID-19 pandemic has cause a crucial economic and social impact
around the world. Young people are particularly vulnerable to the disruptions of this
virus. Many people are at risk especially the students of Naga National High School
TVL. They are at risk of education economic opportunities and other challenging
instances including working students who works to earn to provide for themselves in
order to continue their studies. So many people are more likely to be unemployed and
stop their studies due to lack of financial resources. But at the same time there are still
many of the students continue their studies while working. Other problems that
students faced such as family, love ones, relationship, financial problems, etc. that
makes them a hindrance in continuing their desire to go school despite struggles and
exhausting difficulties that they encounter in their everyday life . Another problem is
stress which is really an obstacle that has a bigger impact in our life. Stress is
experienced by students especially those in poverty. It is important to identify the
causes od stress so that it can be addressed properly and decisively. The academic
pressure has been increasing in the last few years of study of grade 12 students.
There are examinations, homework and many other activities that stress their lives
even during pandemic. The stress on a student in his studies causes depression,
anxiety and other dangerous conditions.

In this study we will discuss how students faced and managed their knowledge
on how to overcome their hard challenges or circumstances that they experienced.
Statement of the Problem

1. What is the personl profile of the respondents in terms of:

a) Age
b) Gender
c) Address
d) Birth Order
e) Family socio-economic status

2. What are the facts affecting the school academic performances of students?

a) Knowledge
b) Skills
c) Attitude

3. What are the ways done by the students to lessen the effects of the stressors?

4. What are the recommendations offered to lessen the effects of the stressors?
Scope and Delimitation

Research topic/ title:

Stressors experienced by Grade 12 Students Relative to SHS Academic


Curriculum

SCOPE: The Stressors that are Experienced by Grade-12 students in Naga


Natioal High School year 2022-2023 and how they manage it to
overcome their academic curriculum problems while they study.

DELIMITATION: Focus of the study are the Grade -12 students of Naga National
High School only

Signifucance of the Study

• The one who will benefit from it is the one who will read it and will learn how to
solve and overcome the stressors on life.

Teacher

• The research helps the teacher to guide the findings and get them about the
research on how to overcome the stressors to the students.

Parents

• Parents will benefit from research on student stressors; they will get ideas on
how to overcome the difficulties and obstacles their children faced.
Siblings

• For those who have siblings who are experiencing stressors, they will know how
their sibling can overcome their sibling’s stressors and do self-recreation. They will
also know the ideas about the research.

Students

• The stress response is designed to help us out when something potentially


threatening happens to help us deal with it and learn how to overcome the students
stressors. Stressor research show moderate, short-term stress can improve student’s
alertness and performance.to boost memory to overcome it.
