 Issues Encountered

There was occasional electrical interruption during the training.

 Findings And Recommendations

Mid -year In-Service Training (INSET) 2023 topics anchored to Blooms

Taxonomy and has been an eye opener to shift educational paradigm so as to

develop children’s higher cognitive skills and to improve teaching competencies of

teachers for address learning gaps.

Being a new and timely topic, it brought excitement to teachers as they listen

to & extrapolate on the various ideas of developing pupil’s higher cognitive skills from

the speakers.

As a positive result, teachers were able to relate their previous and present

techniques reflected on what they have done or lacking to the assessment tools they

have given to the learners.

They were able to grasp ideas in making test questions and parts of the

lesson plan congruent to the objectives

They were able to realize weak points in measuring and evaluating pupils

learning using useful & reliable instruments.

So, religious use of Bloom’s Taxonomy in making table of specifications for

quarterly examinations is highly recommended to be able to develop higher cognitive

skills of learners, produce quality teaching and address learning gaps

An evaluation, analysis & data comparison will be conducted after the use of

the knowledge acquired on the INSET and to document its effectiveness so as to

benchmark to other schools and to help new teachers in the field.

Teachers were encouraged by the speakers to become consistent with the

curriculum requirements as well as apply the knowledge learned from this INSET for

a better outcome.
