A. ( Motivation / Introduction )
1. Answer the assignment given the previous day ( HOMONYMS )
Look for homonyms for the following words : weight, stare, would, not

B. PAIR ACTIVITY
Activity 1. Pair activity (Homograph Charade)
 Put the 10 learners in pairs.
 Give each pair a homograph.
 Pairs plan how to act out two different meanings of the word.
 Pairs take turns in getting up in front of the class.
 Classmates guess the word, then use both meanings of the word in a sentence.

C. DISCUSS
HOMOGRAPH came from 2 Greek words, HOMO, meaning the same, and GRAPHOS, meaning
of the same letters.
Homographs are words that have the same spelling, but with different meaning. Sometimes they have the
same pronunciation and sometimes they have different pronunciation.

D. SYNTHESIZE
Activity 3. Application. (Activity sheets to be given)
Ask the learners if they can already identify homographs. How are they going to identify homographs.

Expected answer: I can identify Homographs because I now know that they are words that have
the same spelling, but with different meaning. Sometimes they have the same pronunciation and
sometimes they have different pronuciation.
