Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, best wishes to all of us, om swastiastu, namo

buddaya, best regards

As a Women, frequently we are asked to be:

Worker or Housewife?

As though, choosing one will loose the other. If we can get two, why just choose one? "That's is Najwa
Shihab"

Due all respect to honorable juries. Respectable the committee of speech competition. And my
lovely audience who watch this video.

First of all, praises be to Allah, lord of the world, king of the kings, who always gives us his
gracious and blessing until we can meet in this video although just in virtual. Secondly may
sholawat and salam always be deliver to Prophet Muhammad SAW who has led us from darkness to
brightness, from the stupidity to the cleverly, from the bad era to the good era.

Last but not least, I'd like to thank you all for giving me this very special opportunity to participate in
this contest. Let me indtroducey self, my name is Ratna Meilani, and I am a student at 8 Bulukumba
High School. I am standing here before delivering my speech.

I hope you are all having as amazing as I am right now. I'm a little nervous, but I'm not standing in
front of the camera to tell you how I feel. Instead, I'm here today is all about justice in this country
and the tittle of this speech is "WOMEN IN JUSTICE"

"Women can't be smarter than men!"

"If a woman is married and has children, then education is not important to her."

Those all some examples of frequently used words that should be banned. Discrimination based on
gender still occurs in all aspects of life, all over the world.

Do you know? Gender equality in Indonesia ranks fourth lowest in ASEAN. According to the United
Nations Development Program's gender equality index, Indonesia is ranked 103 out of 162 nations
worldwide. "Give applouse!!!" — "Oh, stop it, stop it. That's not a proud achievement!"

My Brothers and sisters whom I respect,

Data put forward by Komnas Perempuan said that in the 1997-1998 range, where sexual violence
reached 30% of the total violence experienced by women, while physical violence reached 27%. Every 2
hours, 3 women are raped! One in three Indonesian women, had a history of violence. Beaten, raped,
or tortured by their partners.
The human rights of both men and women are recognized and protected, therefore laws will always be
needed to accommodate the state's commitment to protecting the human rights of its citizens, including
women. Types of violence do not only include physical violence but also psychological violence and
sexual violence. However, it is explicitly stated that violence is a form of discrimination against women.

Brothers and sisters,

We are not demanding that women be treated more. We don't want men lower than
women. Nooo!

Would you be willing to let your mother be harmed?

No, we would not be willing!

Research in the world suggests that the presence of women at the leading levels of an
organization or company, correlates with higher productivity.

Now Indonesian women record a number of advances. Indonesian women now appear to hold
the most important positions in the country. We're lucky to have President Jokowi to trust
women. Sri mulyani said she believed she should monitor state expenditures. Foreign minister
Retno Marrias, chief of the house of representatives. And Susi Pudji Astuti, has been recalled to
the house of representatives of Soemarno.

More than half of Indonesia is women. Of the total reproductive ages, 55 percent of women, but the
irony is that only half work. Gender equality is a common problem, and cannot be realized without of all
parties.

The question remains how can we as future generation continue in making Indonesia respect gender
and giving justice for women?

We must treat all human beings equally.

We certainly don't want our mothers to be harmed, right?

Don't want our sister to be underpaid by her male counterpart. We definitely won't allow abuse of our
elder sister. We must treat everyone equally. We want boys or girls—whether we are involved with us
or not—to both receive justice.

So few have so much, so many have so little. This is not a matter of numbers but this is a matter
of our wounds together. Because of this gap, example, there is a girl who locks herself up and
cries because her dreams and aspirations are buried by society's patriarchal culture, where a
woman is not worthy of higher education. very dear isn't it?

We as the next generation of the Indonesian nation must educate ourselves first about gender equality
and we can make a little change by educating others, because education about gender equality is very
important to make Indonesians respect gender.

36 million women have decided to quit their jobs after marriage and have children. However!
Indonesian women have the right to school and to work.

"Everyone! Wake up! Get out of the comfort zone!"

We act as agents of change to achieve gender equality. Women and men have the same rights!

We must believe the first step is ourselves! We can do it together!

Let the past be in the past, from women that there will be children who connect the future of nations,
countries, religions and humanity. And I believe that is the true meaning of women's empowerment.

I would like to say "Stop comparing yourself to society's standards and start doing it from now on.
Women or men are the same and women or men can achieve high dreams"

I think that's the end of my speech. Thank you for your attention, I hope we all don't lose our humanity
and continue to provide justice for women. And Wassalamualaikum wr.wb
