sounds.

Complete the sentence below:

In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to see the image
and learn about what letter makes the beginning sound .
Pedagogy Planning

In this interactive white board activity, there are three columns with different letters, for
example R, S, and M. When they hover over the columns, they make the sound of the letter.
They them must click the treasure chest to see the picture. In this example the picture is a
snake. They must then sound out the word snake and pick the right column.

Activity
I will begin the lesson by reading the students a story. We will the discuss how
different letters make different sounds. We will then practice saying the letters
and what sounds they make. With this I could make it a jeopardy like game. In the
game they must use think pair share with their team and come up with a group
answer on the sound of the letter. I will also supply work sheets that work on
sounding out letters and words. For the white board the students do an activity
from class flow called “The Beginning Sound Picture Sorting”. The student will be
doing the activity. The students will be called up either one at a time or a small
group and they will work to find the begging letter and sound of the selected
word. They must then either by themselves or with their group put the image in
the right column.
Pedagogy

This activity will help the students work on phonemes and beginning sounds. The
teacher will be there to aid the student if they are stuck or confused.
