In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to sort the
pictures by starting letter and they will learn about beginning letter sounds.



Activity The class will start by coming to the carpet to workout

and sing to Jack Hartman’s “Workout to the Letter
Sounds” https://www.youtube.com/watch?

 Next the teacher will remind students of the rules when
using the board. One student at a time will be called to
be the “teacher” and move the pictures around while
calling on children who have raised their hands.
 Teacher will demonstrate with A. The pictures that start
with A will go into the barrel. Each student will have a
turn at the board putting the correct pictures into the
barrel and calling on students.
 Once all students have had a turn they will return to
their desk to do beginning sound worksheet sorts.
