Activity
The students know how to write upper case and lower-case
letters. They can write their first and last names as well. For this
activity I have found a pre-made IWB template from
SmartExchange. The activity has slides from A-Z with a picture
and word of an object that starts with the letter shown. For this
activity, students will:
1. Go up to the board one at a time and trace the letters
shown.
2. After tracing the upper- and lower-case letter, the
student will independently write the letter in uppercase
and lowercase form right next to it.
3. Next, that same student will go to a slide with the first
letter of either their first or last name and write their
name on the slide.
4. If students are confused by what the letter is or how to
find the letter, the teacher can assist them by pointing
to the picture on the slide or by asking the student to
sound out the letter.
