Complete the sentence below:

In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to match the
beginning sound with the given picture and learn about initial consonant sounds and
phonetic principles.

Activity
This lesson will begin with students reviewing the initial
constant sounds with a few words given verbally. (5min)

The teacher will then tell students that on the next activity
they will have an opportunity to come to the board, select the
matching beginning sound to the picture and select it to
complete the word under the picture. (25 min)

Once the teacher pulls the lesson up on the smartboard,

she/he will select at random (with name sticks) students to
one at a time come forward to complete their turn. Once the
student has completed the word the students will blend the
word together to see if it is correctly matched with the given
picture, being careful to put emphasis on the initial constant
sound selected.
