Grade 3 Intensive Reading Letters Ritchel M. Pre-Reading (15 minutes): Powerpoint
and Sounds Cañeda presentation /
Alphabet Review (5 minutes): Quickly review the Video
alphabet with the students. Have them repeat
the letters after you.

Letter-Sound Introduction (5 minutes): Introduce


a few letters and their sounds using flashcards.
Show the letter, say its name, and then its
sound. For example, "This is the letter A. It
says /æ/ like in apple."

Phonics Song (5 minutes): Sing a phonics song


that incorporates the letters and sounds you've
introduced.
During Reading (15 minutes):

Reading Practice (10 minutes): Show simple


words (e.g., cat, dog, hat) on flashcards. Have
students read the words aloud, sounding out
each letter.

Word Formation (5 minutes): Use letter cards to


create simple three-letter words (e.g., cat, dog,
hat). Have students read the words they've
formed.
Post-Reading (15 minutes):

Letter-Sound Game (10 minutes): Play a game


where students match letters to objects or
pictures that start with the corresponding
sound. For example, match the letter "B" to a
picture of a ball.

Letter-Sound Dictation (5 minutes): Say simple


words aloud, and have students write the
beginning letter they hear. For example, say "cat"
and have students write the letter "C."
