I. ABOUT
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 28 and encourages awareness and
action for the protection of the environment. It is supported by many non-governmental
organizations, businesses, government entities, and represents the primary United Nations
outreach day supporting the environment.
II. OBJECTIVES
 This event is observed to promote awareness and action for the
protection of the environment and create a more sustainable world.
III. EVENTS
1. Individual Categories
a. Poster making competition.
b. Rap/Jingle competition
2. Group Categories
a. Slogan competition (Maximum No. of Participants 3 per group)
b. Rap/Jingle competition (Maximum No. of Participants 20 per
group)
*These competitions are open to Primary and Secondary
students of BYS HuaHin Campus.

V. Mechanics on each Events:


A. Poster Making Contest (Individual Category)
1. The Poster making contest is open to all Primary and Secondary students
of BYS Hua Hin.
2. Each participant will only be allowed to submit one (1) entry.
3. Entries must be handmade and with an A3 sized paper canvas. Handmade
refers to posters created using art materials such as but not limited to paper,
colored pencils, wet paints, paint brushes, etc.
4. Materials will be provided by the school.
5. Entries should highlight and illustrate the World Environment Day.
6. All entries must be original works of the participants.
7. All the posters must be done at the school campus starting June 26 and 27,
2023.

8. Two winners will be selected from the Primary department and Two winners
from the Secondary department.
9. The winning entry will be determined using the following criteria:

Creativity and Originality 30%
Relevance to the event ‘World Environment Day’ 30%
Quality (composition, design elements, and color) 20%
Overall artistic impression 20%
Total: 100%

B. Rap/Jingle Making Contest (Individual or Group Category)


1.The contest is open to all students of Primary and Secondary students.
2. The jingle must be an original composition and must not have been used
as entry in any song competitions.
3. The content of the jingle must be lively, appealing, creative and must
highlight “World Environment Day.”
4. The use of offensive and rude words is strictly prohibited.
5. Any musical instrument can be used as accompaniment at the composer’s
discretion.
6. The duration of the jingle entry must be less than 1 minute and a maximum
of 3 minutes.
7. The winner shall receive a certificate and their winning piece will be posted
in BYSH Facebook page. (Two winners from the Primary department and Two
winners from the Secondary department)
8. The following criteria shall be used in judging:

COMPOSITION 40%
(Catchy melody, lively music, rhythm, and recall)
RELEVANCE TO THE THEME 20%
(Originality, clarity of message, language, and phrasing)
LYRIC CONTENT 15%
(Originality, clarity of message, language, and phrasing)
CREATIVITY 15%
(Use of structure, instruments, and vocals)
APPEAL/IMPACT 10%
Total: 100%
C. Slogan Making Contest (Group Category)
1.The contest is open to all BYSH students (Primary and Secondary).
2. Each group participant (maximum of 3 students per group) should submit
ONE entry only.
3. During the contest proper the following materials will be used.
*White Art Paper (provided by the facilitator)
*Coloring materials: oil pastel, coloring pencils, pencil (provided by the
facilitator)
*Note: Bringing necessary materials is allowed such as pencil, eraser,
coloring pens, watercolors etc.)

4. The Slogan must illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme of World
Environment Day celebration.
5. It must be in the English Language (maximum of 20 words).
6. The participants will be held accountable to any issues that may arises with
regards to the originality and authenticity of the design.
7. There will be two winners per department (primary and secondary) 2nd and
1st Place. The winners will receive a Certificate of Recognition.
8. The slogan will be judged according to the following criteria:

Creativity 20%
Originality 15%
Impact & Presentation 15%
