FINALS CASE STUDIES

1. Case Study 1: Project Planning

Prepare a simple project schedule of a “Construction of 3-bedroom Bungalow

Residential House”. Prepare project personnel resource curve for the construction
trades. Make an outline of your materials management plans to ensure the necessary
equipment and materials arrive at the field site to support the construction activities.

2. Case Study 2: Project Safety

1. Describe how you have included the safety function in your field
organization, assuming that your firm has proactive field-safety
policies.
2. Evaluate your project from the safety standpoint. What standard
and special safety considerations will you be giving specific attention
to?
3. You have had a fatal accident on your project. How will you handle
this situation with OSHA, your management, the local media, the
insurance company, and the next of kin?
4. OSHA has issued a number of serious citations on your project.
How will you handle the situation?
5. Assume that your project has a resident safety engineer on site.
Describe how you will ensure a proactive safety stance and a favorable
safety record for your project.
