bowl/cup and challenge children to say how many
there are. Swop the bowls /cups around rapidly for a
minute. When you stop, can they point to the bowl
with three? Lift the bowl and see if children can
instantly say whether they are right.

UW bricks – can you build a strong house for the Three
Little Pigs to protect them from the wolf? Will the
 house be strong enough? What will happen to the
house if you put a fan in front of it? Will it blow down?

characters in the story. What are characters? Who are
the characters in this story? Show the children the big
pictures of the story and talk to the children about Activity table in
them. Can they recall what they did in the story? Place Main room
the pictures on the floor and read out the words. Can
 the children place the words on the correct character?
