What is interjection?
What is interjection?
Interjection is a word, phrase, or sound
used to convey an emotion such as
surprise, excitement, happiness, sorrow or
anger.
What is interjection?
Interjections do not have any
grammatical function in a sentence.

Interjection of Greeting
This type of interjection is used in
the sentence to indicate the emotion
of warmth to the person meeting
with such as Hey, hello, and hi.
Example:
Hey! Nice to see you here in the party.
Interjection of joy
This type of interjection is used in the
sentence to indicate immediate joy and
happiness on any happy occasion that
occurred such as Ha-ha, yahoo, wow,
yippee, etc..
Example:
Wow! You are looking pretty in
your dress.
Interjection of approval
This type of interjection is used in the
sentence to express the strong sense of
approval or agreement for something
that has happened such as Bravo, well
done, Good etc.
Example:

Well done! You win the race.


Interjection of attention
This type of interjection is used in the
sentence to draw the attention of
someone such as Look, listen, behold,
hush, ssh, etc.
Example:

Look! Someone strange is there.


Interjection of Surprise
This type of interjection is used in the
sentence to express the strong sense of
surprise about something that has
happened such as, what, ah, oh, eh, etc.
Example:
Oh! Really you completed the task.

This type of interjection is used in the
sentence to express the emotion of
sadness about something unfortunate
that has happened such as alas, ouch,
Aww etc.

Ouch! It's very painful.
