I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:
a. identify interjections in sentences,
b. appreciate the importance of the proper use of interjections in daily life
discussions.
c. construct sentences using appropriate interjections.

b. Motivation
a. ‘Guess the Emoticon’
The teacher will present flashcards showing different emoticons (emotions
stickers) to the class, then will let the students guess the emotions being
expressed by each of the emoticon. After guessing, the students will enact the
emotion.

d. Analysis
a. ‘Question and Answer Activity’
The teacher will then ask the following questions to each group:
1. For the first group, what do you think the picture is all about?
2. If you are in this situation, and you witnessed the floral float parade. What would
you feel?
3. What is the first word that you would say?
(Same questions for the other groups)
If the students have mentioned in their answers some interjections, teacher writes
them on the board then ask the following questions
a. What do these words represent? Do these express great sudden of
emotions?
b. What are these words called?
c. Basing on our activity, what do you think is the meaning of interjections?

Value Integration: The teacher will be showing to the class a short video clip of a
Filipino Teleserye entitled, “Pepito Manaloto” showing a character who talks without
emotions.”

f. Application
“Wheel of Emotions”
a. The teacher will present on his/her powerpoint presentation a spinning wheel
which contains the various emotions. Then, the students will construct
sentences using appropriate Interjections to show the particular emotions that
are chosen/picked by the ‘wheel of emotions’.
b. The teacher will write the names of the students on an index card, and the
chosen students from the index card will be the one to construct sentences.
IV. Evaluation
Find the Interjections in the following sentences.
________1. Goodness! He listened to the man’s story and reported it to the
police immediately!
________2. Oh! I haven’t seen my brother since he left for college!
________3. Ooops! I dropped the jelly.
________4. No! Don’t touch that!
________5. Help! I’m about to fall!
________6. The poor dear was, alas, destitute and hungry.
________7. Wait! Don’t leave me behind in this cave!
________8. Ah, I’ve heard that rick before.
________9. Oh! What a wonderful movie!
________10. Ouch! That hurts!
V. Assignment
a. The teacher will ask the students to observe their family members and friends
what they are doing and what expressions and interjections they are using at
home.
b. Let the students write them in their notebooks (not more than five).
