A. Content Standard:
The learners demonstrate understanding of essential information about composing
persuasive paragraph.

B. Performance Standard:
The learners competently construct a paragraph that will illustrate each type of
literary text.

C. Grade Level Standard:


The learners demonstrate communicative competence through his/ her
understanding of literature and other text types for a deeper appreciation of Afro
Asian Literature, including Philippine Literature.

D. Competencies:
Construct a paragraph that will illustrate persuasion.

E. Specific Objectives
1. Identify persuasive paragraph
2. Use literary text knowledge to process information in a text,
3. Identify the purpose of the author.
4. Construct a paragraph that will illustrate each type of literary text.

Students will share their composed paragraph in the class and answer the
following questions.
i. What is your topic sentence?
ii. What are the details that support your topic sentence?
iii. What is the purpose of your paragraph?
c. Pre- Assessment
Students will identify the literary text used in each text.

2. Lesson Proper

i. Definition of each type of literary text.


a) Students will read the definition and example of each type of literary
text.
b) Teacher and students will discuss the features and purposes of each type
of literary text.

ii. Guided Drills


a. Teacher and students will analyze and answer each given question
regarding the topic.

3. Generalization:
Teacher will ask the students the question as far as their understanding of the
lesson is concern:
a) What is the importance of developing paragraph in according to purpose?

4. Evaluation:
Composing paragraph

Individually, students will write a five- sentence paragraph about Father’s


Day celebration. Students may choose any type of paragraph. The work of
the students will be graded using the given rubric.

5. Assignment:
Select a photograph or painting that is printed in one of your books or
magazines. Write one of the types of paragraphs- narrative, personal recount,
expository, explanatory/instructional, or persuasive paragraph.
