HOLIDAY HOMEWORK

CLASS: VI (23-24)

Dear students and parents

It’s summertime when faces light up with a grin
As holidays are about to begin
It’s time for the children to play and enjoy
Free, unbound, high-spirited but safe at home.

Summer break is a vacation time students eagerly await for. So, now is the time
to unlock the days creatively making the most while at home. So, adopt a herb, a
house plant or a flower, bake a cake, sing-along, paint and draw and compose
your own song or take up your hobby as the school announces the summer
vacation.

To ensure that the children have a constructive holiday, some holidays’

homework & projects have been given which will keep the child active and
observant. These projects can easily be done by the children and you could assist
only where required. You can download the Holidays’ Homework from the
school website for your convenience and in case of any clarification, you may
contact the teacher concerned as it shall be a part of the internal assessment.

ENGLISH:

1. Share your holidays with us, and write a journal of at least a fortnight (2 weeks) of your
holidays. You can supplement it with photographs and souvenirs from your trip. Eg. If you visit
the beach you can stick shells into your journal or if you went to a mountain you can stick a fern
or a flower to support your work, even a ticket stub would be nice.

2. In the shape of wall hanging prepare an Inspirational Wall Hanging. Write Moral Values on it.
Decorate your Wall Hanging with waste material.

3. Summer break provides an opportunity to indulge oneself in pleasure reading. You can read
any two books among the list of books provided in your English Literature Book on page No.69
& 70 and write a Book review on any one of the book. Note down all the difficult words you
come across while reading and write down their meanings using a Dictionary. You can do this on
an A4 size sheet and file it in your English Portfolio.

4. Read Unit- 1& 2 of your English Reader Book and do as many exercises as you can given in
them to improve your Reading and Writing competencies.

SCIENCE:

1. Make any decorative item with the help of plastic bottles/paper/cardboard etc. to show the
reuse of materials.

2. Make a foldable colourful food chain.

3. Paste the sample /stick pictures of different food items and label the nutrients present in it.
(Use A4 Sheet)

MATHS:

1. Develop your learning skills by revising tables 2 to 20.

2. Practice addition and subtraction sums. Practice Divide and check sums to develop your skills.
In rough copy

3. Learn all Divisibility rules. 2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12,15. Search in google. You will get it. Make
chart on A4 sheet.
4. Make any Working Model of class 6 book of Maths any chapter of your choice, like different
types of angles, Parallel lines, Area and Perimeter etc.

SOCIAL SCIENCE:

1.Collect information and pictures of any five states of India showing the language spoken, food,

Dress, dance forms, religious places in a scrapbook.

2.Collect pictures related to the festivals celebrated in different states of India and make a

beautiful collage.

3.On the political map of India

a) Locate and label the states and union territories of India

b) Mark and label the wild life Sanctuaries, National Parks and bird Sanctuaries (Chapter 7)

4. On the physical map of India mark the physical features of India. (Page 52 of book)

5.Complete all the chapters done in the class and learn.

ICT

Download App Canva and prepare posters/pamphlets/video on different topics related to

computer or social issues

G.K

Collect pictures from newspaper/ magazines related to sports/science inventions/ Educational

news/ Awards & Honors etc. and make a collage in A4 size Sheet.

DRAWING

Draw a Trip to Hill Station during Summer Season and complete the drawing using different
shades of colour.
