According to The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica (2022), technology

refers to the use of scientific knowledge for the practical purposes of human life and

the change and control of the human environment. It is everywhere and has become

an integral part of our daily life, making it more efficient and productive. However, do

technologies positively or negatively affect each person's safety? Technology is a

broad phrase with a huge impact. It is a controversial term for those who question

whether technology results in positive or negative outcomes. Technology, in my

perspective, has a significant good influence on the following fields: medicine,

education, and society. Medicine in which efficient tools and machinery are used to

treat patients. According to Webb (2021), since health and safety have been a

critical focus for businesses and governments in recent years, the percentage of fatal

personal injuries among workers has reduced, leading the study to conclude that

technology has enhanced worker safety. Furthermore, since the COVID-19 strikes,

people's health and safety have been prioritized. Technology has significantly

contributed to students' and teachers' education for them to communicate more

effectively. It has been stated that technology has numerous benefits for the

education sector, including improving students' learning environments, enhancing

teachers, helping student and parent communication, and boosting the overall

effectiveness of the educational system (Zorić, 2021). Moreover, the Internet of

Things (IoT) was brought into society with the intention of not only developing

civilization but also of addressing people's safety. According to Wine Tourism Day

(2022), IoT sensors are used to monitor workers' safety and stress in hazardous

situations, including wearable technology that assists in measuring levels of toxic

gas emissions or unsafe conduct that puts workers in danger. Generally, technology

improves people's personal safety in the following areas: medicine, education, and
society; thus, it has a positive effect. It is essential to ensure individuals' safety and

make them more aware of the risks they may face in any situation. Technology

implementation and proper utilization can result in a far more efficient and productive

outcome.
