Subject: Living in the I.T. Era Activity No. 1
3. How is information technology affecting our lives, and in the current era?
Change is indeed inevitable and the only thing in this world that is permanent. Technology has
changed our lives and in fact, we usually can’t last a day without using it. Technology is much
used today than the past decades and even people at a young age can be knowledgeable about the
different electronic devices we are using today. The term “Millennial” has become known to this
era and studies suggests that these students share unique characteristics that define their
generation. Millennials love to be engaged in their learnings and they are not passive learners.
Thus, Instructors and teachers must have right technologies that will be part of the students
learning. These technologies include mobile phones, laptop, computers and the internet. (Howe
and Strauss, 2003). The Covid-19 pandemic has also affected the lives of the people throughout
the world and by this, people relied more on gadgets to talk with their far loved ones when the
quarantine period happened. With the help of technology, the education was not stopped and
online classes are introduced. The economy of the world was mostly affected but with the
internet, almost anything is possible and people still pulled through with their businesses online.
Information Technology affects the current era with the advancement it gives making it an
essential for the digital era and for the future eras.
