“Title” for the previous text:

2. - Explain the differences between skimming and

scanning. How did you apply these techniques while you
were reading the previous text?

SKIMMING is to make a quick reading of

the text in the title subtitle
main ideas of the author
summary and introduction is
not looking for a
specific information but one
tries to understand and get
the main idea of the text
without paying attention to
details and is used in
research
SACNNING it is based on quick reading

but looking for specific

words looking for precise
details more than a general
idea, it is not trying to absorb
all the
information but to look for
specific information. To scan
correctly one must
start at the top and quickly
go line by line. It is a good
technique to
look for answers and it is
widely used in exams where
we have reading activities in
English.

In the previous text, look for key words or phrases that

will help me to understand the text better and thus know
a few of what the text talks about, later I will go to the top
and quickly start reading line by line

you consider are the most important for you when
reading a text in English.
 

1.- Scanning: fast reading of the text and looking for keywords
good technique to look for answers in an exam
2.- Ignore the words that are not important: you find yourself
with new words the first thing is to find out what that word refers to

3.- Prediction:
Before reading a text in detail, you can predict the information that
you will find and maybe you know something about it, this can help
you anticipate what is the text content.
4.- Skimming:
quick reading to better understand the text is used for research

5.- Inferring: Sometimes when reading it is important to know

what is
that the reader wants to say.

4.- What was the text about? Write a short

summary :

it deals with technology and crime, how it works in

antisocial behavior and that it is better to use that
technology for the victim and not for the subject
who commits antisocial behavior, the prevention of
crime perhaps with more cameras and radio
surveillance
