Project Summary
Background
ZŠ and MŠ Dubová Bratislava applied for this project because Erasmus Plus program gives great opportunity to
participants to grow, to stay motivated and to raise quality of teaching and learning. This project gives us
opportunity to fulfill our goals which are following: increased quality of teaching English and German languages
and implementation of CLIL bilingual method at the secondary school of ZŠ and MŠ Dubová Bratislava. We are
certain that this project can help all our students to be more successful, more motivated and to have better
chances to reach their current and future goals. The participants but also other teachers, students and parents
will have better sense that we form important part of European Union so this project can bring to our school not
only the practical knowledge but also the sense of bigger EU picture which we are part of.
Objectives
ZŠ and MŠ Dubová Bratislava wants to motivate its teachers by improving their English and German language
and communication skills, using new materials and methods how to teach children of different ages and the
children with special needs, by gaining new ideas and tips, by improving their digital technologies skills, by
improving planning and prioritization in lessons, by building the lessons in the way to improve students
participation, independence and critical thinking, by bringing to school broader picture of EU values and EU youth
program. Our other goal is to implement CLIL method in English at the secondary school by the end of year 2022.
The plan is to implement CLIL method for these school subjects: mainly history, art and music, later probably
biology and other subjects. The teachers of these subjects will get key knowledge of CLIL method, CLIL
materials, ICT tools connected to CLIL, language and vocabulary specific for their subject.
Activities
Our teachers would like to attend courses focused on key knowledge of CLIL method, usage of CLIL method, ICT
tools and materials in CLIL for subjects as history, art, music and social studies. They will learn about digital
technologies used in CLIL, how to facilitate children at CLIL subjects, how to assess and evaluate learners, how
to deal with different challenges related to CLIL bilingual method and teaching. Our teachers English and German
teachers will further develop their language and communication skills but also knowledge of EU countries culture,
history and modern life. They will learn new methods of teaching and they will be able to make lessons more
interactive and creative. All teachers will share ideas and thoughts with teachers from other EU countries and will
learn more about EU youth program. They will also learn more about educational systems of hosting countries
and their modern education strategies.
Impact
ZŠ and MŠ Dubová appreciates this opportunity thanks to Erasmus Plus program and European Union Funding
to send its teachers to EU countries for improving their language, communication and technical skills.
Furthermore, our teachers will learn new methods and trends including CLIL method, they will be able to use new
materials and make lessons more attractive for students. They can facilitate the CLIL method for students that the
students understand its benefits for them. The teachers´ experiences will positively influence other teachers,
students and parents. Additionally to that, the teachers will bring with them new contacts and ideas and spread

EU values and priorities not only within the school but also with parents, local community, other schools and local
politicians (mayor of City Centre of Bratislava where our school belongs and city mayor of Bratislava). We expect
that our students will be better prepared for the opportunities waiting for them to achieve.
