A pronoun is a word that can replace a noun in a sentence. The noun that is replaced by
a pronoun is called an antecedent.
I love my dog because he is a good boy, the word he is a pronoun that replaces the
noun dog.
Object Pronoun
Object pronouns are pronouns which are used as an object that follows a verb or a
preposition or as replacement for objects to avoid repetitions.
For example:
“My dogs get very happy when I take them to the park.” = Them refers to my dogs.

Possessive Adjectives
We use the possessive pronouns when we refer about the things, characteristic or
possessions that one person or character has.

hers is a possessive pronoun in the sentence Charlotte noticed that Seth’s dog was
bigger than hers. The word hers indicates that “Charlotte’s dog” (the noun phrase being

Reflexive Pronoun
Reflexive pronouns are used when the subject and the object of the verb are the same.
It is used for the object of a verb when it refers to the same noun as the subject of that
verb. In English, these are the pronouns that end with “self” or “selves”: e.g., “himself,”
“myself,” “ourselves,” etc.
